Ok so what's the going rate for used planet eclipse m170r's and shocker cvo's


Also on a side note for anyone who uses a m170r regularly do yall find the little finger nub on the frame uncomfortable, I tried one of the new dye sliders for cockers and it has the same finger nub but I found it to edgy and uncomfortable like they didn't round the edges on it, I know in the end I really need to hold one but thats not gonna happen, I do have small hands if that matters, I hear PE frames can feel a little big

and I hear cvo's can be short stroked is that really an issue or is it just players that suck with a mech gun

M170R grip frame is nice. With or without gloves the finger nub is not an issue. I love mine. It stared out life as a electro but I love the planet eclipse mech conversions and this one just stays a mech. Love it. Not sure of the prices though.

Having shot both.... Emek.

I don't know how to describe it but the shot feel for the m170r feels lacking

And the cvo early ones can be short stroked and feels like a prettied up enemy.

Agree, Emek feels the best. The M170R felt so tiny and also short, it was hard get a good feel for it at all. The CVO is also too dainty, and definitely has the potential to short stroke and chop. Even with a forcefeed loader I still ran into chopping. Probably why they are 300 used now.

I'm convinced the chopping issue is because the bolt and breech are designed for big paint. The amount of rollback and potential for stack clipping with the sub-.679 stuff they sell these days was probably not accounted for when they were designed. I want to try a glue in soft tip to see if it can help.

I'll go against the gain and say get a cvo. They can be short stroked yes, but you gotta try. They can be purchased for cheaper. They are just a fancier enemy yeah, but imo that engine has a higher shot quality than ANY gamma core gun.

That's just me though, I still have my mech rsx I love. And give bought and sold 3 gamma core guns in the meantime.

Cvo's are going for $300 thats not bad, hell I could get one of those and an emek, I don't mind the enmey only thing I don't like about them is the hissy valve when you pull the trigger

CVOs are in the 300-350 range, m170rs are in the 450-500 range. I really really prefer the CVO's build quality and feel...the fact that they designed the mech frame to take 1911 pattern grips tells you that the guys behind it get the throwback mentality and understand what a PB gun should feel like. It's all traditionally anodized aluminum and doesn't have that Glock feel of a PE gun.

Now with that said, the gamma core is better period. Small paint doesn't play super nice with the CVO bolt.

I have and use regularly my m70r and I like it a lot. No fuss works every time just slap a hopper and bottle on it and go play. I can not remember last time I had to adjust the velocity and I just keep it reasonably clean and lube a couple times a season. Let me know next time you plan on playing (they opened a field on Two Knotch in Lexington now. I'll bring it over and let you play with it for the day to see how you like it.

No experience with CVOs but some with EMEK and they shoot great as well and bang for but I would go EMEK every time. M170Rs have come down quite a bit in $$$$ so they can be a good grab as well.

The m170r is super nice. The nub is smooth and a non-issue in my opinion. And I generally dislike such nubs. That said, while I find the frame comfortable, it is wider front-to-back than the Emek. Obviously, the electro version has the board there and needs the space. So it takes up a little more real estate in the hand. I can definitely get a tighter grip on an Emek or 45.

CVO for sure. I am probably biased but it is a really good shooter. Nice snappy trigger, small frame that takes 45 grips and doesn’t have a bunch of overmolded rubber all over it.
Yes it can be short stroked but it’s not that big of an issue in my experience.
For the current going rate of them, it’s well worth the money.
M170r is nice as well but I have never been a fan of the overall feel of Eclipse guns. Emek is fine and I have one as a loaner but they just feel like a plastic blob.

I agree, loved my CVO. The m170r just felt dead and had a lame trigger. The CVO has a much snappier trigger IMO and the autococker like bolt position being tied to the trigger felt like I shot faster. Of the two I'd have a CVO again in a heartbeat. Still my favorite new mech gun.
