    Milsig / Valken ????

I acquired this recently and disassembled for cleaning as it has been sitting for quite some time.

I believe Milsig is now Valken but I'm not really sure what this is as it appears to have parts from a "Commando" and an "Elite". Any opinions?

I am more familiar with Tippmann products and it seems to share a lot of similarity with the A5. Is there any cross-compatibility?

It holds air and cycles with the occasional skipped shot which could be a weak sear spring or wear on the sear or rear bolt I am assuming.

It is missing the cover plate that goes over the feedneck hole so I can't test it with the magazine. Is cover plate still available anywhere?

It's not really my style as prefer pump guns if limited paint is the goal. I may end up just parting it out or using the viable parts on an A5 somehow if I can't find parts easily.

Valken bought milsig. It's kind of what they do

As for the exact model you have there, I'm not positive but it does appear to have a lot of tippmann A5 in it's makeup.

I know BT made something that looks very much along those lines, I'm kind of wondering if it's something like a bt and someone put the milsig name tag on the side

The magazine doesn't look like theirs, mag release is a style I've never seen them use and I also can't find any photos of a milsig marker with any bottom line.

If it is from milsig it must be something that was very early in their run

This is the (or at least one of the) first offerings put out by milsig. It uses the same style mags as the original RAP4 guns iirc. It is definitely based on the Tippmann 98 design but I couldn't say which parts are compatible. Just like every other first generation magfed gun (ie T68) these aren't well regarded. I'm not sure how much of that is due to mag design (which is definitely poor) vs the gun itself.

I'm not 100% on the Valken-Milsig relationship, but I believe the former is the North American distributor for the latter. This relationship only started recently so the only way Valken would carry a compatible feedneck cover if the design wasn't changed between the this and M17.
