I still do this on all my autocockers. Old habits die hard i guess. It was never a really hard thing to accomplish, seer drops 3way moves immediately after is really the gist of it. Modern loaders aside if there is alot of blowback the gun is improperly timed either way or the bolt is excessively loose in the bore.

Fringe tuning is unreliable. No.
You want no blowback - that's the target and is repeatable and reliable. Suction timing is extremely fringy and can result in problems if one variable changes slightly.

The thing with suction timing is that 99% of people test it without paint, and with paint it will no longer work the same. Because of this, I never even tried. Even with a revy it's a waste of time anyway.
