    Sniper valve issue

Working on getting my nightkast up and running. It has new autococker parts internals, a brand new planet eclipse reg sl3. I don’t have a reg tester and I have no idea what my operating pressure is at. When I air the gun up it seals. When you start shooting I get air shooting out of the barrel until I recock. Cup seal and orings were lubed prior to installation. Before the leak down the barrel I noticed that it was terribly air inefficient. Any help would be much appreciated.

Is it shooting at velocity or is it low?

do u know the psi range of the sl3 reg? some of the electro regs dont output enough psi for cockers. what is ur ivg set at? lot of turns in to get to velocity?

Turn up your HPR some and see if it is still happening. If it stops leaking you most likely you have a weak valve spring compared to the hammer spring. It happens springs sometimes get mixed in bulk buys.

Valve spring and/or pressure to low, while the hammer spring is to heavy.

How heavy is the hammer spring? How far is the IVG turned in?

It’s the pb gateway sl3 with a range of 50 to 400 psi. Not sure the spring weights. They came with the acp lower tube kit. Ivy is in halfway.

Half is too much. All the extra tension is part of the issue.

I'd start over. Set reg to basically zero. Count 3 full turns in on the IVG, then go through the sweet spotting steps.

Something else to check is the valve jam nut. I once had weird issues, took out the bottom tube, put it all back in again and was golden. The jam nut was too tight I believe, causing the valve to get wonked. Also if the valve has a hole only on one side, making sure it is oriented properly.

If you got a full lower tube with provided springs, it's mostly likely just needing a sweet spotting.

Check the reg, too. The reg seat especially. Tear it down, relube with proper lube.

And get yourself a cheap on/off ASA with a gauge. Make your own reg tester

                    This times a thousand

You can’t make HPRs behave unless you can watch what they are doing

Buy a good gauge that is easy to read. Don’t trust the usually mini gauges for setting a reg.
