So EV Phantom 2.0 is good or bad?

PLEASE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE OWENED THE EV PHANTOMS 2.0 - EPERIENCE ONLY

I may be grave digging and beating the dead horse, but what's the actual census on the EV Phantoms. Is velocity still an issue, did modify the cup seal fix that issues? I've read some things about malfunctioning pump stroke and pressure drop off. I really want the updates like detents, welded clamping feed neck, barrel inserts, 45 grip, under cocking pump. But is it just going to become a expensive paperweight? Is it GOOD or BAD?

brand new ev phantoms are overpriced.
for the options youve listed, youre looking at ~$600 from them.
same phantom on the used market can be found for $300

2.0 phantom stops roll outs, the vertical feed I would assume is more durable than a screwed on feed neck and the 45 grip lets you swap grips. The under cocking pump makes it look and feel nice. It think the clamping feed neck brings a certain look and feel.

I recently got a urban camo phantom, upgraded the pump and that its. Although I am in the process of making a wedge to get the asa parallel look. I would consider that my stock pump.

Whereas the new one I want. I bought a old lapco stock to replicate one I saw online. looks completely different, I'll insert picture if I can. I'm not going for the exact build/spec but close enough to say yeah that's basically the same thing.

Sherwoodsghost Many used Phantoms have the superior ASP mod, and if you're lucky an ASP body that accepts cocker threads. The feed is subjective, and all phantoms can take AR 45 grips, the majority of which already have the 45 frame on.

You sound like you've already made your mind up anyways.

Overall EV has been fine for me. Once I drilled and tapped the valve body on the 2.0 frame it solved all the efficiency and choking issues.

i think latches believes you are talking specifically about the "Phantom 2.0" gas thru frame/valve.

Yes only the 2.0 gas through frame. I haven’t had any issues with the 2.0 body. I did have one hammer chip on me. All I can think of. I know others have had issues, maybe take the average.

Yeah I'm mainly concerned with the 2.0 body / internals when using a macro line. Specifically bottom asa, to macro, to valve body.

to me, that looks like an old cci phantom. not a newer ev one.

so, "2.0" is your way of saying "a new phantom with breech detents from Extreme Velocity Tactical."

i disagree that the things you listed are enough to make EV phantoms qualify as a "different marker" from CCi and, in my opinion, CCi >>>> EV.

it seems like maybe you are not aware that "Phantom 1.0"s had all of those same upgrades if you wanted them. CCi phantoms had undercocking pump kits, .45 grips, freakbored barrels, clamping feednecks, ect....

this will probly end up like these threads always do, but imho a freak bored barrel is far more important than breech detents. I dont experience any rollouts or double feeding with my phantoms that dont have breech detents. so, to me, they make zero difference.

to reiterate, and answer your OP:

i would not recommend paying $600 for something you could pay $300 for.
You can find a phantom, exactly like your picture with the lapco stock for $300 or less.

      go ahead LMAO

if you are patient enough, $300 is completely reasonable for:

      Vertical Open Class Phantom
      UC kit
      .45 frame
      freak bored barrel
      in black working fine

since they arent typically sold with Lapco stocks, youd be on your own sourcing one.

black parts are the cheapest and most plentiful.

and like i said, oring detents are not necessary if you have a freaked barrel.

i get it that your list is your "dream setup", but some of the specific parts are not important if youre sticking to a budget.

I don't really have a dream set up, I collected most of my wanted setups. I would consider this a tacticool set up for me.

    here.
    buy this
sell the stock class parts and buy this adapter.
or keep them and then you can play both styles

Did EV release a phantom 2.0?
    or
Are you referring to EV as the 2.0? (CCI, being 1.0?)

I bought an EV Phantom when their ”build a phantom” option first went live and they were fantastic. I’ve never even cleaned the damn thing and it shoots flawlessly every game. I think it’s been about three seasons now. I’ve never even had to touch the velocity out of the box. Plus, I thought their customer service was top notch. Anyways, 10/10 recommend from my experience.

Well the current website says "Phantom 2.0 Open Class Breech with Detents" that's the body headline. I guess there's a 1.0? I don't know the Phantom history to make sense of who made a one point 0. We would need to ask.

      Thanks for sharing your experience.

No, its just a picture I think is funny. I'll find a better one someday. I think if I was going to role play, I would pick John Wick
