I have a few packages in limbo right now too. Just checked tracking and the website says they're having issues. Probably going to be a long wait.

Hopefully it all shows up. I don't mind waiting as long as I eventually get my stuff.

Mine updated this morning, it departed the regional center for the local PO about 11:30 last night. So that's progress.

USPS tracking is a lie. I have had several issues with statuses over the last couple years to the point I put in a complaint with my local Post Master. She was quite honest about the fact outside of Priority or Priority express there is no real requirement or grading done on postal workers for %completion or %accuracy for tracking. Standard postal rate tracking is on the bottom of the priority list for postal workers. Just yesterday two packages going to my daughter showed in transit (between stations) by tracking but Tara texted my wife they were on the porch when she came home from work. Today we got the out for delivery message even though they were delivered yesterday.

My CCM fittings and Scifi board were supposed to be delivered Thursday. Still waiting, hopefully they arrive soon. My local post office is full of idiots in the sorting room. Most of the time when there’s a problem, it’s because of them being lazy or plain stupid. This is why jobs are going to automation.

Now imagine buying from a different country and dealing with two postal services, plus a border inspection.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Blind trust that is all you can do. That being said I've never had anything go sideways when moving material between US and Canada other then time.

I actually ordered an item from a seller in Spain a couple days after ordering an item from a seller in the US....The item from Spain arrived yesterday, still waiting on the USPS shipment...

Take it from a USPS rural carrier, your stuff is most likely gonna be late. Distribution centers are so packed, sorters can barely walk around the floor safely. The trucks dropping off packages to the centers are sitting in line for up to twelve hours to unload their trailers. UPS, FedEx, DHL, and EMS services are so backed up that they are dumping more than usual on us. Sorters and carriers are dying leaving more work for the holiday temp workers to do. In some instances, carriers are working up to 20 days or so without a break. Many carriers are working up till midnight and then are expected to return to the office at 5-6am to do the same shit all over again. LLVs are catching fire leaving us with less and less vehicles to work with.

The saddest thing is that they had a whole year to plan for this but in typical USPS fashion they are more worried about Post Master and MPOO bonuses than they are about getting the mail out safely and in a timely manner. Unless you are paying for Express/Registered/Certified services your arrival date is not guaranteed. A few months ago the 3-5 day for priority was bumped to 7 days and even then, that's not enough.

Bear with us, we are doing what we can. It's pretty thankless work helping run one of the largest logistic nightmares on the planet. Happy holidays y'all.

                Also, fuck Amazon.

I'm OK with a longer than usual wait. What I'm not OK with is the absolute horrendous tracking. Why pay for tracking, or offer tracking, if you don't actually offer any useful information? I've had something say it has been in transit to it's destination for 3 days. It's ridiculous.

Either way stay safe. My packages are not worth risking your health.

The delay i understand. Its all the other stuff that pisses me off; all the games that are played.
The insane quantity that is being shipped right now is nuts, but dont say a package was delivered when it wasn't. Dont say that no one was home to receive the package when no one stopped by.

So, the package the prompted this thread arrived today, safe and sound. Just busier and slower than usual, it seems.

I do want to push back against the USPS hate - they're way better than UPS/Fedex/etc, and most of the people doing the gruntwork are working hard and making the best of things.

I don’t hate USPS, I use them all the time. For some reason I always have issues at my local branch and it’s always some hooligans running around in there. My carrier is amazing, probably couldn’t ask for a better one. Just those damn sorters can’t read. Besides that, I’ve never had an issue and all my packages have arrived in good shape.

Yeah no problems ever with ups myself. The stores were always nice people inside. Unlike the post offices around me.

I can't help but feel guilty when a Canadian customer requests USPS to Canada Post. It's like a double dose of BS. Gross.

Its because we get royally screwed with brokerage fees and other hidden fees when shipping cross border with ups or fedex or anything really. Like extra 40% of item cost sometimes.

Oh, I'm well ware of the brokerage fees. With all the complaints against those two postal systems, a lot of customers will just eat that brokerage fee for a better shot at actually getting the item(s). Clownshoes on both sides of the border.

It appears the tracking system completely crapped the bed now. It won't even let me put in tracking numbers any more.

                Super.

I'm in the same boat on 4 packages.... I understand there's shipping delays but what pisses me off about this is.... if you're paying for Priority Mail then it's supposed to be delivered in 2-3 days, which means there should be no excuse for delays over 4 days. If they can't guarantee it'll be there past that they should offer some kind of discount or something or make it so you can send Priority for no extra charge since it's not really Priority anymore.

While I agree with you on that, we did officially extend priority guarantee to four days a few months ago.

I think some common sense would go a long way but it seems people are lacking it nowadays.

Hey that's all well and good, but I think you need to extend it again. I have two packages that are still floating around somewhere for close to or over 3 weeks now.

That's not an issue with me though, what is, is your tracking system is absolute garbage. I don't care if it's your system, or people are not scanning properly, or whatever. If you offer tracking, but don't actually track the packages, don't bother. One of my packages has been saying it's going to be late and it's in transit to the next facility for the last 3 weeks, then the other day it said it was in detroit distribution center. Now it's back to saying the previous message. Absolute garbage system that does nothing but breed frustration.

I have a package that's been chilling since December 9th with the 'late' status. I'm going to try and be patient until after the New Year then I'll make a claim if need be.

Yeah I looked into making a claim. Apparently you need to the original receipt. So unless you shipped it yourself, it may be difficult.
