Barrel boring question

Hello everyone,
I have a question that seems the answer is too easy but maybe not. With standard freak inserts becoming harder to come across would a machine ship like BMC be able or willing to bore out a barrel to except the nova/sconi inserts?

As long as it's cocker threaded why not just buy the full barrel kit from Nova?

I have a WGP VF Tactical that I really like the look of the stock barrel, its just that its sized at .691 and most paint I have been getting has been at .684 and smaller. and I have considered getting the barrel kit from sconi for a Black Magic that I have.

There's so many cocker threaded barrel kits I just think that's a better option for you. There's gotta be someone on here that bores barrels if you really want to.

Are they actually harder to find? I feel like the used market has a ton of them floating around.

I cant answer for BMC but yes, it can be done. At least from a home machinists point of view

5” and 8” freak inserts are still in production. You can buy them from most retailers new.

The 5" freak inserts are still everywhere

Freak inserts can still be found in both stainless and aluminum, singles and kits, new and used.

But yes, barrels have been machined for Sconi inserts.
