I’ve been using an Amazon portable compressor to fill my tanks at home recently — GOYOJO PCP Air Compressor, Max 4500 PSI / 300 Bar, Fast Fill for Airguns or Paintball Tank, Auto Shut-Off, Dual Power Car 12V DC or Home 120V AC, Built-in Cooling Fan, 300W Portable Pcp Pump.
I have 2x old ninja tanks and a handful of smaller 3000psi tanks. Filling them for the last year has been no problem. I recently bought a new 4500psi FS hero regulator from ANSGear + 2 older Ninja 3000psi regs from a member on here. When I try to hook up the compressor’s hose to both the new FS regulator and one of the ninja regs, it will not fasten or “click in” to the coupler. A visual inspection shows these two specific nipples to be *slightly* longer (barely anything). ChatGPT told me it was probably an issue with the generic coupler that comes with the china made compressor so I ordered a new one off amazon — 1/8" BSPP Female Thread Quick-Disconnect Plug Adapter, 8mm Female Quick Disconnect Adapter, PCP Paintball Charging Fittings with Sealing O-Ring.
Same issue — new coupler and it still won’t fasten to my fill nipples. 2x couplers being out of tolerance (or just having a shorter depth) seems too good to be true. Got it that I should just buy new fill nipples and swap it into my regs I want to use, but is this normal? Is there a new standard for fill nipple size, or what am I missing? Feels a little silly to spend that much money on a FS reg and then immediately have to put a new fill nipple on it. I don’t have a convenient option locally to check if they’ll fit on other fill systems.
