When storing markers over a longer time frame, how do you keep the rubber and plastic bits in good shape? I am doing some cleaning and grabbed my DSR which I haven't used in several months and the rubber on the grips has a pretty sticky feel compared to what it used to be. I presume this is due to the compounds in the rubber breaking down some and due to not getting use, but I'd like to keep things in good shape if possible. Any advice on how to minimize or prevent that?

A few months shouldn't make that much of a difference. Was anything left on the grips from last time you played, old paint or something? -
I like using CLP or Ballistol on plastic bits, like on my Tippmann's. You can make plastic foregrips and grip frames look better than new doing this. Plastic really seems to soak it up, not sure what the effect on rubber would be. I suppose some kind of car cleaner that states it can be used on rubber would also be a good addition to the rubber parts your talking about.Comment

Wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol and make sure you don't have any old paint left inside on orings.Comment

no residue that I'm aware of, but I'll give everything a good rubdown with some isopropyl to make sure.
