I placed an order with EV for some Phantom parts, including a barrel, a t-stock and a .45 frame. The order is stuck at customs in Vancouver for a third week now. I guess that since some of the parts look like gun parts the geniuses over at CBSA are trying to ascertain their nature, but my question is would anyone of you know how long should the typical delay be?

No, the Richmond CBSA is the busiest parcel transfer station in the country. Chances are it’s sitting in a big bin with other parcels wait to be checked.
I have shipped hundreds of parcel out and received same coming back with all kinds of paintball parts and never had issues aside from the usual.

Got an update on Friday stating that the package had cleared customs. ETA is by this Friday. We shall see. I'm betting I'll have to pay GST+PST at the very least (which is understandable), but I won't be happy if there'll be fees. After all, EV parts are made in the USA so NAFTA = no tariffs. Usually I'm pretty lucky whenever the U.S. shipper uses USPS, which is the case here.
On a side note, I'd love to see a Canadian distributor for EV. I think paintballgear.ca (MR Paintball back then?) used to be one. Then again, is there a market large enough here for EV products to warrant a distributor?Playing the game since 1990

I've been ordering from the US (and Europe) forever and overall I've paid very little taxes and fees. I ordered a few pairs of dress shoes from Italy and for each pair I factored in taxes + duties (which are quite hefty where clothing is concerned - I factored in $100 per pair), yet got lucky and never paid anything. I sometimes order gaming miniatures from the U.K. and since Royal Mail seems to have an agreement with CanPost (much like USPS has one with them) my packages waltz through.
Where paintball is concerned my US orders are always for specific stuff that I really want. I usually order from ANS Gear and never had an issue. I always factor in taxes and duty fees, but I'm not ordering from the US to save money, I do so because no one else here carries what I want. However, there were a few exceptions where locally the item was say $300 and it was on sale at ANS Gear for say $100. So if I'd pay double that in shipping, taxes, fees I'm still ahead by $100.
The funny thing is that I've ordered plenty of PE stuff (except for markers) through ANS Gear and even though their website says that they can't ship PE stuff to Canada (having to go through Badlands) they don't give a damn and ship anyway. What's PE gonna do? Cut them off? Right...Playing the game since 1990
