Reaperball 2023 Thoughts/Ideas

So for Reaperball 2023 I'm thinking of changing things up some.
The games are great, the people are great I just dont want it to get stale.
Damn I miss the shenanigan's we used to do at BOLP.
Not a permanent change just a one year thing at this point


Maybe swap days so
Semi at OSG
pumps sunday at AG.


Another possible change is turn semi day to Old-School mech day. Say Mech guns before 2005.

I was always BOLP-adjacent, but didn't play there often. Could we make an environment to encourage ye olde shenanigans?

I like the idea of swapping the days. I love OSG, but I play pump there all the time and I would love to play some OC pump at AG (no shade to Slim's). I also like the idea of doing an old school day, but maybe with some loose parameters so no one who wants to join gets pushed out.

What about something like stick feeds only? Shoot whatever you want, but gotta be tube fed. Some of the most ridiculous and fun games I've played have been with my old Angel with a 12 round stick.

We could also think of some goofy ass game types to mix it up a bit. I know most everyone prefers straight elimination, but we could get creative I'm sure.

To add - birthday ball (10 rounds per person, 1 addl 10 rounder in the middle of the field) is one of my favorite alternative formats. Makes for some incredibly funny games.

I’m down for whatever. It’s the group of players and the overall mindset that makes Reeperball one of my favorite events. Honestly with the group we got it really don’t matter what they shoot it’s going to be a fun day regardless. I personally prefer playing pump and will probably shoot one anyway. But I really don’t mind others shooting what they want. + it will give me an opportunity to try new toys.

I like the stick feed idea. But I’m cool with anyway you slice it.

I'm cool with switching to mech at OSG. Would you do mech on Saturday then pump on Sunday?

How about instead of old school mechs we do gravity feed hoppers. People can use whatever gun they want but have to use a gravity feed hopper. That would allow more people to play and make it more even for people who choose to play pump or stock class both days. Xtreme in Agawam does this on Saturday's and it is a fun time.

I also propose a full scale takeover of Area 23 in Concord on Saturday night.

I'm up for what brings the most amount of players to both days of the event. Switching pump day to be at AG is an awesome idea like Jonny said, we do play a lot of pump at OSG already.

From discussion with Keith that may have been more of an OSG oversight than anything. Reaperball has consistently been the same date for years.

Seems like most are for flipping the types of play at the locations.

Likely keep the fields on the same days as I know a few of the BEO guys go partying after somewhere on the coast. and having OSG on Saterday puts them closer.

So Saturday would be Semi @ OSG

Sunday @ AG would be pumps

As far as how and what equipment on the semi day, I like the suggestions. Now to think it over and decide. But theres alittle time before I need to make a choice.

some of us like to camp, maybe talk to AG and see if we can camp there saturday night? i always prefer to camp vs stay in a hotel.

some single shot airball at the end of the day could be fun on sunday for those looking to try something different.

i like the idea of a gravity fed saturday.

I am all for Mechs, or old school mechs at OSG. Honestly, I am fine with just about anything, but would least prefer electros.

I also like the idea of wacky game types. It has been many many years since I played the games with medics, or losing body parts that get shot, etc.

Lol, now that I think of it, I never played that format with a pump! that would be fun!

For me it works out because I am so tall I always get shot in the head. Jokes on them though, when I paintball, I never think anyway!
