There is a food truck (trailer) on site (it's part of the driving range/mini-golf/etc we share property with). It's usually closed on Sunday, but I'll see if I can talk Mike (owner of driving range/property, runs the food truck) into opening up for this event. Mike is a great guy, but sadly not in the best of health. He just recently had another stroke, this one being more serious than the previous. I'd love to send some business his way. Food is typical burgers/hot dogs/etc for a reasonable price.

I talked with Mike, and he expressed interest in opening up on that day, but asked me to talk with him about it later. In case he isn't able to, I have a backup plan. Friend and fellow paintballloserplayer Chad is a cook at a nearby restaurant (Brandy's on Main), and lives very close by. He'sbegrudginglyplanning on being at the event, though he's a bit sour about having to wake up early on his day off. He'll possible be the guy with an Airow Gun, assuming we get around to fixing it in time. He has a grill and a smoker that he could bring to the field. I could buy food for him to grill/smoke for everyone to eat. If we go this route, I'll need to know about any dietary restrictions. Also, idea's for what people might want to eat besides the typical burgers and dogs.
Last thing. I'd like to get an idea of who strongly plans (I know how life likes to get in the way last minute, messing up plans) to show up, so I know how many to plan for. Also, if you go ahead and pre-fill out the waiver, it will save time that morning (has to be printed out and filled, as I'm required to have a physical copy on site).I can haz feedback?

Ok, so food is settled. I'm going to have Chad bring out his smoker, and we'll hickory smoke up some burgers and dogs. I'll get beef hot dogs just in case anyone is kosher. I'll also have some Beyond Burgers, and maybe some sort of veggie dogs, just in case anyone is vegetarian. We'll figure out some sides, but expect something typical. Food is on me, but I will put out a "just the tip" jar for Chad.
If you've got something you want smoked, bring it, and we'll throw it on.I can haz feedback?

Oh man, I may actually be in town that weekend. I also may not be... was planning on being in NC from the 10th-17th, so I may or may not be able to make it.
I also have to actually put together one of my pumps.. I've got enough for two markers, but it's all in pieces right now. All open-class though.

Ok. I am confirmed for this, as well as this Sunday. So two Sundays in a row for me. I haven't put together my pump yet, and if I don't do it tonight it's not going to get done. I'm not going to worry about it too much, but I think I'd still like to try to put it together. Hell, I may get it together then get to the field and not chrono above 200, but we'll see.

I'll be there by 9:30 am and I know of 1 person from the Charleston crowd coming up and there is 1 person a high probability coming over from the Lake Norman area. I'll pass on the word on the 9:30AM start time it might spur some more to come out.

Got a pump together and it looks awesome! It's a midblock pump, which is something I've always wanted to try...
...but when holding the pump handle forward, the bolt moves too far forward. I think the bolt pin slot is milled too long. I get the feeling this body is not going to work for a pump. Everything seals and technically does work, but if I don't hold it right, I get a crapload of blowback and I'm guessing low velocity. Bleh.Last edited by Lotus; 09-08-2023, 10:06 AM.

Bring it to the field, I'm sure we can figure something out.

The pump arm is not the problem. It's the right size (mini-midblock). The bolt pin slot is just milled incorrectly for this purpose, as that's the only thing that stops the forward travel. There's no back block hitting the body to stop it.

I had a few people mention they'd like to come out, but they don't have a pump. We'll have some to loan out at the field, I'll bring some extra of my personal ones, and I'm sure others will have some extra to loan out too. So, if the only think keeping you from coming out is lack of a pump, don't worry, somebody will have you covered.I can haz feedback?

If someone has extra 1" to 1" 45° elbows, please bring them. I'm getting some of the old Maverick/Trracer rentals cleaned up, and I can't remember where the elbows are. I've got plenty of 7/8" to 1" 45° elbows.I can haz feedback?

So I have 40 burgers, 72 beef hotdogs, 10 lbs of potato salad, and bags of chips. I also have a bunch of beyond burgers and Italian sausages, and some gluten free buns. Hopefully that is enough for everyone.I can haz feedback?
