Putting together an Open class pump day in Bay Area in late march/early april

Why let the East Coast MCB'ers have all the fun with their pump days! Time to take matters into our own hands. I'm reaching out to the Bay Area pump and stock class FB group as well, to try and get enough people to really have a great day - that means 20+

I know the disdain for paintball Jungle runs deep but hear me out... they would let us take the whole back 40 field for the day - dense old school woodball field with lots of room to stay happy all day and we would be on our own. We play there regularly and while they could do some things better, the good always outweighs the bad in our book

Second choice would be Midway now owned by ballistic Ben - he'd be more than accommodating but the fields are man made and way more open. just not the flavor I'm looking for for this game but majority wins if that is the vote.

Sundays tend to be quieter and they would be more accommodating to us taking the whole back field

I feel you. I used to play at Sherwood Forrest which is where Jungle is now. I mostly sit out hornets games.

Fraige and Rau went to jungle last Sunday and took group pics with Bob, if that means anything. I’m kinda glad I didn’t go out. Talk about a stacked team, oof.

last time i shot him (with pump) he tried to punch me on the field and called me a cheater for sneaking up on his bunker with a pump ... next game he said pumps were not OK against him (and pump didn't count) 🙄

He's a character alright - author too, with three books! and I think it would be worth a thread. Fred Schultz sold him the field back in the day. he was one of the original Ironmen. Then got the boot over some scandal. others can tell that tale better than I. I hold no beef. Nothing but great memories from back in the day when there would be 300 people on a Saturday. I have a stack of "I shot bob" patches still. I hesitated returning there because of all the hate and the consolidation for years despite it being ten minutes from my house. When we did come back regularly I found there is a really good core group of regulars there. Bob's always there but only occasionally plays, and the hornets nest games are few and far between. is it perfect - no - the refs need to grow a pair and call out some people for their crap, as well as put some more effort into the games, and allot depends on the crowd that shows up but my boys and I have fun.

Looks like this could easily turn into quite a day. Let me call Ben and also have a chat with Ol' Bob and see just how accommodating he's actually willing to be. I think Ben would get the word out and just make it a pump only day and draw even more people.
