Thoughts on Powerfeed Direction?

So I'm going to get a Powerfeed body for my mag, but I'm not sure if I should get it going left or right. What does everyone prefer on theirs? Any features or issues that are often overlooked. I'm a righty with right eye dominance if that means anything.

I like hopper left because I tilt my markers in towards my body centerline when I shoot... the hopper leans in instead out of out that way. I also find I shoot down the left side of the gun so it's better for me with the PF plug out of the way.

Most right handed I think like hopper left. I have used both and it did not matter to me, even switching hands. I am right handed, but also a bit of a south paw.

Every power feed mag I have owned has been hopper right. And I wish it was the other way for the exact reasons Jordan mentioned. There usable just fine but take some getting used too.

I regret selling it but I used to have many many years back a twist lock centerfeed (stove pipe) minimag body. That was ideal but the feed neck was super high and there were next to no barrels for the Center feeds even back then. And I had never heard of docs barrel adapters then either.

Ive been getting back into side feed shooters as of late, and I dont really have a preference i tend to lay my marker out like Jordan says.i also switch hands a lot, so you would think its an issue. I have since gotten a sconi feedneck. Well 2 of em now, they seem to roll the hopper centerish in either case so its even less of a thought.

Power Feed hopper right. Every gun i rented as a younger player was hopper right, powerfeed or otherwise. All the markers I have now , save for my 3 centerfeed guns are hopper right .... it just feels **right** to me <<pun intended >>

Hopper left. I'm right-handed, so that keeps the hopper closer to cover mostly, and I can aim down the side of the body/barrel underneath the powerfeed.

I'm right handed and like Left Power Feeds (Hopper Right) but I cut down the feed to just enough to hold the elbow. I am not a bunker person I tend to be moving too much and like woods play in general so having a "tight" hopper is immaterial to me. Only time I like my hopper on the left side of the marker is if I am doing a warp feed setup then a Left Warp ULE body is my go to.

I like hopper right, since I'm right eye dominant and like to look down the right side of the mag without a dumb tube in the way. I've used both though, powerfeed isn't ideal either way.

One other thing to note - you will absolutely need a parabolic feed plug on a PF Mag, so make sure it has been updated to that feed plug style.

I initially scoffed at this and then chopped every third ball in my RT with the old-style plug... it makes a difference.

I'm still on the fence about a lvl10 setup but hopefully I'm impressed this summer at Wasaga.

I'll be sure to look for that. I have an eclipse one that looks pretty parabolic, but I don't know what the regular ones look like.

It's unlikely it will be parabolic if Eclipse... AGD didn't make them out of aluminum.

From 1997 to 2019 I thought I liked to have my hopper to the inside if it was going to be not center feed. I liked the idea that I was hiding the hopper better when behind cover or tilting the gun to sight down the barrel. The problem I ran into was that I tilted the gun far enough to have balls stop feeding reliably.

Then I got my hands on a cocker with the feed putting the hopper on the outside/ high side. Didn’t miss the hopper hiding, suddenly had much more reliable ball feeding.

now I wouldn’t go back unless there is something specific I really want to shoot.

I got cut down p/f bodies for the mags I play with so the hopper is nearly on top of the body. Cockers have a short feed too, I like to keep it as tight as possible.
