    Micro Mag Value

Was at the local PB shop yesterday, and they had a matte black micro mag on the wall in the used section.

It looked like the one attached, but had no fore-grip. There was a braided steel line going from the valve body to a standard duck-bill style ASA on the bottom of the grip.

The price tag was $500, which I thought was a little steep, but im no AGD expert.

At some point, I'd like a mag of some sort, but right now I have a little too much on my plate with 3 projects going at the moment.

It all depend if you really like rhe micromag design and feed style.
Not sure on current value of micromag but the price seem a litle high. I have seen some in the 300$-400$ range. All depend on condition, gen and parts. Fancy ano one would go for higher.

Another option for you first mag would be to buy a classic mag or a minimag for 150$ to 200$ and the if you like it you upgrade the body to a ULE. You end up with a really nice mag for 300$ to 400$.

This is what I did with my first one and I really like it

I feel like the price of micromags has gone up recently, probably because I started looking for one.

IF it is a classic valve $500 is way too much, if it is a micromags RT valve then I would say it is still a bit too much, if it had a lvl 10 bolt I would think the price is about right for a shop, but high for a private sale. If it had an x valve in it, then that is a decent price.

I agree with Alexndl, pick up a working classic mag for $150 and if you like it upgrade it to how you like it. You are not going to spend more really then buying the same gun fully built. Honestly for upgrades for a classic mag I would just say ule body is the only one I would care much about. Everything else is pretty great stock. Fore grip is a must for me too.

I feel like this is/was a members marker. It feels like one of ours.

The one in the picture was off google, from this site.

The one at the shop was identical, but had no front grip. The air line went from the valve to a duckbill ASA on the grip.

Automag prices have skyrocketed over the last 3/4 years, for a complete micromag I could see them selling for 500$.
ULE bodies that once were 80-100$ with an aftermarket feedneck are now going for 150-200$ and micromag used to sell complete for 250-350$ personally I wouldn't buy it but that's more a preference for me and not liking most micromag bodies.

Like a lot have said if you want to get into the automag game pick up a classic mag and if you like it slowly upgrade it with a new triggerframe/ule body/valve, and by then you'll have almost enough parts for a second mag.

This has happened to me to the point where I once had a docs adapter and built a classic around that 😬

That's too much in my opinion. Go with a Classic Valve, RT on/off, and Level 10. You won't outshoot it, and hardly ever (if ever) break paint.

To get similar to what you pictured. Classic Valve marker $150 (which should be ready to shoot when you add a tank and hopper). ULE body $150. RT on/off $40. Level 10 $100. CP on/off purging ASA $50. CP Advantage barrel (get .693", trust me) $40. Sell the extra bits for $50 (body, twist-lock barrel, Classic on/off, Level 7 bolt, etc.; so you don't build another Mag). Total $480.

Aside from the Classic Valve marker, those prices are new. You may be able to find used for less. If you don't mind the older body and twist-lock barrel, subtract another $190 (ULE body $150 and $40 for the CP barrel), and you're back down to $340 (marker, RT on/off, Level 10, CP on/off).
