MAC pneumag kit (gauging interest thread)

I'm curious if there's a demand for a different pneumag kit other than the ones already currently offered.

I know that Luke sells the T-Rex for about $110, but those only work with his frames. Ryan Mingo (knownothingmags on AO) also sells a more basic pneumag kit for about $75 that you can install yourself into any AGD frame pretty much, but those include the Fabco MSV-2, and that valve needs a lot of fine tuning to reach its full potential, and the trigger stroke is long enough that it requires a lot of practice to walk well.

My kit would be different. Dare I say better? It would include a MAC-33 solenoid valve with a 3D printed lever arm. It would also come with my own personal piston design that uses a 3/8" delrin plunger that's easily rebuilt with a Buna-70 u-cup seal . The MAC-33 is easier to tune than the MSV-2 because, well, there's literally no tuning needed. There's no post-travel to worry about, and the solenoid valve doesn't vent when the trigger is held down. You would only need to mount everything inside you frame and then drill a hole for the trigger rod. Easy peasy. Plus, the MAC-33 trigger stroke is so crazy short (less than 1mm) that it's stupidly easy to walk.

The "catch" is that these parts are more expensive than other options out there. I would have to charge about $160 per kit. But that price would include shipping and all the extra bits you need like mounting screws, trigger rods, fittings, hose, etc. And I would post a new video series on YouTube showing you how to install everything. If you have a non-AGD spec frame you want made into a pneumag, I would probably have to do that for you, but this kit should cover most AGD spec frames.

Anyway, let me know if you would be interested at that price point. Keep in mind that in addition to the pneumag parts, you would also have to source an LPR. The cheapest new one available that I know of is the Jackhammer 2 for about $55. So the cost to make a pneumag this way would be about $215.

That mac33 solenoid is converted to a mechanical valve rights? If im thinking it right you could also sell it aline ti be used on mech ionn, though what the max oparating pressure of it ?

If you run a separate LPR for the valve, it can be used... You'll need to balance the regs, but I've done it.

Jordan how you do that ?

Brianeric26 the vert reg on an autococker is set to (usually 300psi) so adding another regulator to the output air loop requires readjusting the vert reg to still function at 300ish psi and also the required air flow during rapid fire.

Some special ion the lucky ion used mac33 solenoid though idk is those were specially made to hold up to 200psi

Yup. Those were specially modified by MAC for that product. Sadly, they don't make them anymore.

I would be interested. I have a 3way ready to go for this already.

The MAC 33 is a three way valve. It would be included with the kit.

rawbutter I meant LPR but lost track of my words between the main post and the reply box.

Is the Mac 33 that much better? I recently impulse bought a Kam86 V2 frame for my classic RT, on the idea I would like to turn it into a pneumag and that one has mounting spots and a pre-drilled hole for an LPR, but it appears setup for a MSV-2 from the factory. I mean I would love something super fast and walkable, especially if I could just just swap a sear and frame to switch back

I think so. When I build pneumags for people, I always try to convince them to spend the little extra. Plus this kit would be easily installed in a Kam86. You would have to drill some different holes in the bracket, since the mounting holes in the MAC are different than the MSV-2, but otherwise everything else would be the same.

Hmm. I might be down for one. I never liked the way the MSV-2 valves felt.

Okay...this is going to happen. Between here and Facebook, I think there's enough demand to do a small run. I think it will take 3-6 months to get them ready.

Since MAC-33s don't come with lever arms, armageddonsportz is helping me tackle that part of the project first. Then it's a matter of sourcing all the bits and pieces (screws, trigger rods, etc.). Also, I need to order more MAC solenoids, and unfortunately the wait time on that is going to be about 3 months. I'm also going to start small. I think I'm going to order enough parts for 10 kits, and if they all sell then I'll order some more.

I'll make a new sale thread when everything is ready, hopefully in time for the holiday season. In the meantime, post here if you have any more questions.

Very nice to hear. I was cautiously interested, depending on my funds when this kit becomes available. I just didn't want to chip in, looking like I was all aboard, inflating your decision base.

So, long winded way of saying that I might buy one.

Iā€™d be interested in one of these set up in a UL Frame.

Unfortunately, these kits will only work in AGD spec frames. They won't work in Dye frames.

Any updates on the valves , also would be cool to sell them alone for pneucocker builds

Yes, I am still planning to do this. I'm just finishing up some other projects first. I'm going to get out some prototypes for testing this fall, and then start selling them properly early next year.

Sounds awesome. I'll give you 200 for one that fits a y-frame!
