    Two AGD technical questions

I have two questions for the folks here who have more AGD knowledge than I have.

    1. What is the material used in the bumper that goes between the bolt and the valve body? I pulled out one of my X-valves I haven't used in a while and put it into a Tacone body to use at a game this weekend. The bolt was sticking as the marker was cycling, and I found that bumper had deteriorated to not much more than gum. Worse than useless, part of it was pushed into the breach which required an un-fun cleaning. After I cleared up the nastiness, I tried a bumper from a rebuild kit that I have. That bumper was sticky but not totally gum . . . yet. What are those made from, and is there any source for replacements other than buying a full parts kit?

    2. I have an Emag frame in superb condition, but I realize that I will probably never use it. Well, the frame is close to if not near mint, but the battery leaked and marred the battery pack. I would rather know the board is working before I put it up for sale. I seem to remember the original pack output about 16 volts. Will I run a high risk of damaging the board if I link two 9v batteries and connect them long enough to power on the board?

    Thanks in advance.

I thought the x valve bumper was different than the lvl 7? Its a bit softer from what I recall.

you should be able to power up the board with a single 9 volt to see if it boots, but it may not cycle the noid.

Thanks all. I missed the bumper listing on Airgun Designs. I feel better about hooking up a single 9v to avoid a risk of frying a board.

You CAN use the blue classic valve bumper on an RT/X valve. The softer RT/X bumper is mostly for fast ROF and RT'ing. If you're playing with moderate semiauto speeds, the blue one will be quite alright.

Thank you for the info. This specific valve does go into RT easily, but it sounds like an option to get through the end of a day if the softer bumper gives out prematurely.
