    Another project

    Shockwave

She is coming together. Need to get some detents. The frame has some ano rub and such. So I am thinking getting the frame and some other parts cerakote. Thats what the blue tape is for. Just have to decide on what color.

The milling makes me think of caramel or the design language suitable for a chocolate commercial. I have never seen one like this before. (Edit) wasnt suggesting you make your marker chocolate.

If it was my marker named Shockwave, i would try get something similar to this from Latches collection done at anodizing. http://ucbf7f113f5d5a5a15851b7f53b4....OhNosOKQ/file#

Erase I think I have seen a ripper or something with waves/grooves done in a chocolate multi ano to have the milling pop. Looked really good.

After your post and coming across the same ebay Chuck E Ducky did. I am now thinking having the whole thing cerakote in colors that will make the milling on the body and battery pack pop. There is one out there that was done in a ocean green and blue. Was really well done to make the milling stand out.

I can see how if done right that would look badass and exactly like a chocolate, I do like the direction you are taking with the name though. I find the power of advertising fascinating, i automatically think of a chocolate because of some squiggles or like chuck said, a hotdog.

I really wish it was possible to see a resurgence with automags in the way we have seen with autocockers for some new bodies and rails alone. Since thats not happening I do love seeing a project like this where its new to me.

Shockwave is actually the name given by Conrad Customs who made these. He made the bodies and then if you wanted a battery pack milled to match you had to send one in and pay extra for it.

Lots of guys still making mag stuff. The AGD aftermarket is going strong. (Luke customs, Cougar20th) in particular. You can still get new mags as well. The Newest Xvalve run should be ready any day now. There are lots of options out there. There are some diehard mag guys just like the Cockers. The really rare OG pieces bring crazy money to.

Im just getting into them and building one of Cougar20th’s crazy carbon fiber bodies he just made now. Slowly getting the pieces together. Should have it all by next month.

I got a question for you Mag guys. Can you setup an emag with a standard Xvalve and get rid of the board and battery? Emags got some of the coolest bodies. But I like the simplicity of the Mech design.

Yes they do. Very strong following and ones you get one they multiply like rabbits. Well unless you are Cdn_Cuda then it seems mags do not like you.

None of what anybody is doing in the world of automags comes even remotely close to what freeflow/inception design/shocktech have been doing in the last few years. There have always been certain individuals around doing what you mentioned and their contribution is all the more amazing for the very reason it is not comparable.

When an Automag with a Karta rail and body sells for that much money, that is not a good thing at all. The BTS part of Automags.org has almost completely dried up and its because of rarity.

Anyway, have fun with your project Fred you have a beautiful canvas to work with.

I hope you enjoy your automag chuck, you sound hyped. I got my first one when i was 12 years old I am 39 now they are my favourite. I don't mean to sound like doom and gloom, its just not the same market for purchasing automags as it was even just 5 years ago and its not going to improve anytime soon. Im out

Problem is you don’t get to have it both ways. With popularity comes price increases and that’s what drives innovation especially on an older platform like the mag. 12 years ago the dollar purchased a lot more. 12 years ago not many $2000 cockers/Mags were being sold. However now the market is driven by them.
