I am personally not a fan of the ult. Some guys love them. I find they are less reliable than the rt on/off. Not to mention the risk for drilling one is pretty high.BeardedWorks.com (Your Inception Designs and Shocktech Dealer)

I like them with the stock single trigger carbon frame. But they are definitely less reliable.

I have never shot an rt , only a classic with an rt on off , probably should have waited my new valve to arrive to see if i like it before wanting to modify it haha ,? Is the trigger pull about the same as a classic with an rt on off? I mean of course it will be bouncy but yeah haha

I imagine that by the time you pay for shipping and machinist fees, modding an RT valve for a ULT probably won't be cost effective. You would likely be better off selling the RT valve and using that money to pay for an x-valve. the only cost-effective way to mod an RT valve is if you have all the tooling to do the job yourself (which, as Jake said, is very risky and shouldn't be done unless you're willing to possibly scrap the valve).Originally posted by Brianeric26 View PostWho still mods rt valves to accept the ult on off ? Personally I do like ULTs. That's what I used before I switched to a pneumag. But I don't shoot a lot (usually less than 200 rounds per game). If you want a high ROF, an RT on/off will probably be better in the long run.

Let me make you something. I build pneumags, auto-response frames, and wooden pill cases.

Ult will fit in a classic valve but generally it’s a negative experience for most people. Better solution is an rt on/off.BeardedWorks.com (Your Inception Designs and Shocktech Dealer)

When I tried it, the trigger got really mushy and wouldn't reset sometimes. It's not just the on/off assembly that determines reactivity. The valve design affects it too. And the classic valve doesn't have the right design for it. Not sure if it's the regulator or something else. But yeah... A ULT in a classic valve just doesn't feel right, and it's not usually reliable.Originally posted by superman View PostUlt will fit in a classic valve but generally it’s a negative experience for most people. Agreed.Originally posted by superman View PostUlt will fit in a classic valve but generally it’s a negative experience for most people. Better solution is an rt on/off.
I have two classics with ult's; they are both assisted-return. One has a tiny spring inside that holds it open. It's a pain to remove the valve from the rail.
The other has a magnet base that clings to the sear. The sear has a weak spring for extra return force.
Once you add the return assist, you start getting back toward RT on/off forces.
