Thread tap to use for plugging VASA holes

What size tap should I use to thread those 2 small holes in the body? Looks like 10-32 tap will work, but might be too loose. I want to make a delrin guide/cover/thing for the cocking solenoid wires, and need to plug those holes.

the vasa centerbolt thread should be 1/4-28. the plugs i have used had dowels in the holes north and south of the center bolt and an oval shaped oring for sealing

I’m good on the bolt thread and you’re right about it being 1/4-28. I want to plug the 2 small holes with sealed grub screws and 10-32 is too small. I have an ID plug, but the solenoid wire just flops around and looks out of place. I have some delrin I’m going to use for a cover and don’t want to rely on plastic to seal everything. I plan on using a 1/4-28 bolt backed with o-rings to handle the sealing while securing everything and the front block will prevent everything from twisting. Hope this makes sense to why I’m going this route.

Without calipers handy, i cant lead you in the right direction. I now see where you are going with this and it makes sense, I just dont have any data on the other 2 hole sizes to give you the right advice. Sorry for the confusion.

I decided to go ahead with using a 10-32 tap. The screws fit and should seal with some thread sealant. Here’s the almost finished piece I made to protect the solenoid wire and fill a void with the extended reach kit.

Now it just needs a polish to get a better shine.
