Long story short I bought an empire resi and the 3 way leaked. Bought a inception design 3 way and that also leaks. Is there a 3 way switch, made today, that doesnt leak? No the LPR is not pushing high PSI, yes ive used DOW 55 and it still leaks.

It's probably your ram not the 3 way that's the problem. If air gets past the sail o ring in the ram, it gets into the side of the 3 way that is currently open to vent.

…. This is likely a ram leak. 010 oring on the end of the shaft. (The “sail” oring)
if the ram leaks in the forward position out of the forward barb, it’ll vent out the front of the 3way on 3-oring versions.
003 orings for most 3-ways. Although the two you listed use 1mm x 3mm orings.
i am 99% positive that you replace the oring on the ram and your problem goes away though. 99.9% if you’re using a slider frame.
i know you’re frustrated, I can tell by the tone of your post. But try to not be so dismissive of people suggesting things when you ask for help. It’ll make sense once you replace the ram sail. You’ll see.

This is pretty common, I think you would be surprised at how many people have purchased new 3 ways to fix a leak that was the ram causing it. The ram sail o ring is a pretty high wear item so it tends to wear out faster than the 3 way rings

UPDATE: Pulled the front hose off the ram and sure enough it leaking. I was able to find some 010 Buna o-rings, installed one and it still leaked. So my suspicions now point to either the joint where the rod connects to the disk holding the oring or the bore is not cylindrical enough for the oring to do its job. To test this I cleaned the ram completely of oil and junk then wrapped the disk/oring with 1 wrap of teflon tape, then continued to wrap the rod to puck joint with a couple of wraps then pressed everything down to make sure the tape was firm to its contact points. I purposely did not oil the assembly because I wanted friction to tell me its story of whats going on. Cycled the gun 10 times, the pulled everything apart. The teflon wear marks were very clear that there are some areas the oring isn't contacting the bore enough to seal. There was spot where the tape didnt even come off.
To really hit home of this hypothesis, I pulled the sail oring off and wrapped the oring seat with 2 windings of teflon tape. This pushed the oring out more making more contact with the bore. This time though I did grease everything up with lithium grease (don't use lithium grease on paintball makers, it was the only grease I have on hand). Gased it up and it still leaked. Leaked enough to force the ram backwards a couple of inches until both sizes of the ram equalized.
At the very least I replaced a perfectly functional 3 way with a even better 3 way....

So now that I've tinkered with 3 cockers this past 2 months I am now a full shade tree expert.
The other reason the rebuilt ram is leaking could be that your LPR pressure is too low so the o-ring isn't sealing. I'd try a different 010 oring just in case, oil it nicely and try messing with the LPR to see if you can get it to seal.

had to dig deep to find this thread, but right in the same vein as me
My ID three way will not stop F***ing leaking. dissasembled ram and found rubbery gummy bumpers. replaced bumpers. got it working for awhile. now 3 way leaks incessantly. replaces 3 way orings with 1mm x 3mm o-rings from big oring kit. nothing.
removed front hose and verified ram not leaking.
gun cycles and fires but leak is persistent
bad o-rings in kit? ID o-rings that came with it also useless. stabilizer at 380. no reg creap
3-way rod seams straight.
backed out trigger stop
adjusted cocking hammer release point back a bit to make it a longer pull
from proper position of timing rod leak is out the back indicating o-ring issue....
bought from inception 2 weeks ago!
very frustrating. any other ideas?

Problem without a gauge is your LPR can spike. Reading how the ram bumpers were gummy I would rebuild the LPR anyway. When aired up, pull on the back block, should be stiff spongy. This is not a good way to test pressure because a bad ram seal will give inaccurate estimates.

To make a tester
(1) 1/8” NPT gauge 0-160psi oil filled is best
(2) 1/8” NPT 3 way fitting
(1) 1/8” NPT to 1/8”OD barb fitting
Ptfe tape, loctite, or 5min epoxy to seal.

I like gauges - and i figured it might be a rig like that. found most of what i need at the shop so I'll rig one up. I you tubed it out of curiosity and docfire sold a pretty cool one at one time - has a little push valve in it to let air through. I spent some time on mcmaster, but could not find something similar. anyone know what it is? might post over on ask the experts
