    99 Evolution Belsales

After decades of autocockers I finally own a Belsales!

Are all the parts on this marker original, as it shipped?

Lug nut is a set screw, I know that is not correct. All the belsales IVGs I have seen have the velocity adjustment at about 7pm on the back. All the belsales hammers I have seen have two nylon set screws, one for the lug and one for the cocking rod. I have never seen palmers style valve guide on a belsales valve, or two sealing orings on the valve body.

What did the 99 lower tubes look like?

That valve looks like one I just pulled out of an old ANS

hmm, strange, maybe a run of valves before they switched to a single oring and the loose cup seal. Whats throwing me off is the two orings + the seal on the stem... Here is the ANS valve on the gen x, stem is different. No bevel on hammer

yep, my x3 and x5 look like that. My photo is from an "original" generation x cocker.
I only know what falls out of my guns, no idea if it is stock or not

I believe that 98-99’s (and newer) had the nickel Supercharge valve already, its been a while though, but regardless congrats on the pickup, she’s lovely. The only obvious thing is the Stabilizer adjustable reg versus the old black Max-flo.

Interesting, but either way sooo nice. The combination of an Evo with wood grips and an AA barrel is pure magic. I dream of that set up + a pre 2k CCM pump kit.

Yup, that entire lower tube is early ANS stuff. Kind of a wonky valve.

Besides that, the trigger shoe has been upgraded (that's a shocktech trigger pant), and to my knowledge they never shipped with female stabs. I think you you could order it with or without a bottomline reg, but if they came with anything it would have been a max-flo.

I'm not sure if the original evolutions, those prior to the Evo X, came with chrome pneumatics like this. Most of the original evos came with brass rams and 3ways, and a black LPR. I know that by the Evo X they had chrome, but I don't know when that transition happened. Seems unlikely someone would swap them out for chrome, as they'd be the same otherwise.

Anyway, other than those items, it does appear to be original.

Which is correct for this marker? I assume the eclipse and evo valves were the same.. they look the same, but I only have one evo branded valve and its staying installed where it is.

the new lower tube, such a downgrade from the ANS tube tho :/

I have a pair of 99 evolutions in my stable, and I've owned a couple of other 99s. For some reason I was running into that year for a while.

Anyway, I figured I would weigh in on your beautiful gun because I've been into a few that were original. As everyone already told you, that valve is not right (it is indeed an ANS valve with a front oring that does nothing). The valve that came in that generation was the stock WGP valve. A similar example can be seen on Bacci's site here. That valve was in every 99 I've pulled apart. Belsales did polish the sealing lip, but it was an underrated and excellent performing valve, so they did not reinvent the wheel. Your hammer is 100% correct. The Belsales hammer at that time did not have the second nylon screw and they used a 10-32 lug with a polished face (as opposed to the 1/4-28 threaded lug used by many others, included Belsales in later generations). Your springs don't look right and your velocity adjuster is a run of the mill nelson-style adjuster from the 90s. That style was made by everyone and their dog in that era, so it could be ANS, or OTP, or TASO, or ACI, or who knows what. What matters is the adjuster is not correct.

Bonus! I found some old cell phone pictures from a 99 evolution that I no longer own. It came to me mostly original, if I remember correctly it had a freeflow bolt in place of the aluminum evo bolt. Anyway, it was all original in the lower tube. I even took a shot of the hammer for some reason.

Thanks forumreader that is great info!

                  understanding the revisions:
Left is rex dialer I purchased from compulsive before they closed, center (hammer only) came out of the evo, right is a set purchased from ebay.

The left eclipse branded hammer has a 1/4-28 lug, is taller, and a smaller bevel.
Center hammer has a 10-32 lug with polished face.
Right hammer is the same height as the center, but uses the 1/4-28 lug which cuts into the bevel - I would guess they moved to the taller hammer with smaller bevel to avoid this -
Also, it seems they also widened the valve face on the supercharger valve for better airflow, they both have the same bell shape milling on the interior.
