I've seen a few posts on this, but figured I'd post my own writeup.
I'm modding a Trilogy SF's removable feedneck, which made things easier but is not a requirement. The trilogy feedneck is sized perfectly for a 31.8mm (or 1 1/4'') bike seat clamp, i bought one under 10€ new.
I started things off by creating a 3d printed fixture to help me align my cuts and holes. It uses ikea furniture screws to clamp the feedneck in place.
I drilled the holes first using my dremel and wd40 as cutting aid. Then i proceeded with a handsaw and more wd40.

I made the guiding slots on the jig a bit too wide and some of the cuts don't quite center with the drilled holes but for the most part it looks clean, especially after a pass with sandpaper.
