Press fit feedback removel/machining

Hello,

Got a vertical feed cocker with a press fit feedback and I'm wanting to put a clamping feedneck on there. My

I found a few "universal" feedneck that only require a lip of the right OD to attach to the marker without needing threading.

My question is, can I remove the pressed in feedneck to machine it down to proper size without damaging it?
Can it be put back (and how) without falling out?

For what it's worth, Nummech makes a press-in stub that's very cheap and is already machined to accept Empire style clamping necks.

Ho ... So remove my feedneck and put the stub in with the empire feedneck?

As far as I know, it's not.

Nummech will remove the old feedneck and press the new one in for you for super cheap too.
