    Non P block STO

I have this body and am wondering if it is actually a STO body since it doesn’t have a P block. I don’t ever recall seeing one without it.

The serial number is almost 42989 if that helps with a determination.

I think its counterfeit. You should send it to me for proper disposal....

To give a valid answer. I swear I had a 98 STO I that wasnt P blocked. But the milliing on this says its a 96? STO. Im willing to bet the shop was pretty wild westish in 95/ 96, and this is q valid factory STO.

Here's what it looked like when I sold it about 10 years ago. Obviously with some unoriginal parts.
It most definitely a WGP STO. We'll likely never know what circumstances it left the shop in originally (employee gun? '96?, team sponsorship?, '99 Body Kit?)

I have the pneumatics, no clue if they work. It hasn’t been used in years when I bought it and it’s been sitting on my shelf for a year and a half. I’m going to get it working and use it this year.

Awesome! It was timed and tuned, leak free way back when. But that's quite a bit of time. I actually never used it on the field in the 5ish years I had it.
Hope you get it up and running some day!

I am fairly certain bodies with STO engraved were all 98+. Just lines were 97 STOs.

Beautiful gun, certainly is a 98 kit. Every STO we ever ordered into the shop at that time as full guns were only P-Blocks. I do remember the kits in the literature, but don’t remember seeing anyone in the wild with them at that time ( kit guns).

I have seen more kits in the wild now recently poking around fall 2022 winter 2023 than I did back in the day strangely enough. Out of the kits that I have recently seen non of them were P-Blocks. This leads me to believe that P-Block Kits might not have been an option. I just can’t picture it in the literature from back in the day to be honest.

In regards to the STO on the gun body I recently picked up is a 33 thousand serial # which by the internet literature should be a 97 gun and it has the STO stamping so 🤷‍♂️.

and I’m amending this now because I just did a google search and found a 39 thousand serial # STO with NO STO stamping… figures right…

WGP serialization was far from strict so having some discrepancy from the lists out there is not a big worry. The extrusion could have been serialized and sat on a shelf until they started doing this style of STO milling and milled along with other circa 1997/98 bodies; this would not surprise me at all. The serial number lists out there are based on end users providing when they had owned a particular body with its associated serial number. As far as I know WGP never maintained or provided to the public a concrete list of serial numbers with DOMs (Date of Manufacture).

While I am not a fan of fancy anodizing in general this is actually a very attractive marker, congratulations.

I recall back when I was looking for a sto to put my bps reflex kit on I wanted a non pblock body because I planned on using the bps bolt. At the time when I planning they were everywhere. But when i wanted to buy i couldnt find one. I ended up with a mint 97 (from what I've been told) sto pblock body instead and never looked back.

I'm sure over the couple years run they did of disseminate bodies there were variations. I know mine does not have the hammer lug hole.

I realize this is an old thread, but wanted to share mine to help anyone researching these in the future as I was. I’ve had it almost 20 years, got off EBay in 2004-2005 era. But it appears from what Ive found to be a pre2k, non P block, non fully milled STO. SN46xxx supporting the theories above that there were multiple variants of each STO at different points.
