    Glide Screws on Potmetal Frame?

I'm looking to potentially put some glide screws on my potmetal frame (pre 98). I'm not 100% sure of how they're positioned, but I would assume you'd want them to be under the trigger while at rest so it doesn't snag on the edge when pulling backward if it gets cocked downward. It doesn't look to me like the bottom surface of the plate goes back far enough to be able to accomplish this (I might be able to get one in where the trigger guard meets the frame). Am I correct about how these are positioned?

Putting a glide screw on a potmetal frame is totally possible, but there is only room for one. Couldn't tell you exactly where to put it but all the old school companies like BBT, P&P, Belsales, etc, all did it.

I'll get you a picture of one of my pot metal frames that has one.

I had a fiber frame handy… you’ll get the idea. Start small so if you mess up or strip the threads, you can size up the set screw later.

hold the frame like you do during play and mark the drill spot. Check the set screw won’t hit/rub your finger.

Thanks. I spent some time looking up how they are positioned in relation to the trigger. I didn't know the rear ones ride against the upper step of the trigger. I'll have to wait until I get a new trigger plate to drill for the front one because the bottom step in this plate barely sits inside the frame when fully forward.

The rear one is a little harder to get. I’ve only done that once and I drilled top down.
        Working...
