    Anti-seize on jam nut?

The last two jam nuts I’ve recently taken out had a decent bit of corrosion on them. I cleaned up the threads, though there’s not a lot I can do about the internal threads. But it got me thinking, is there any reason not to throw a little anti-seize on the threads before putting them back in? I would certainly do so in a similar situation working on a car, but I’ve just never heard of anyone doing it on a paintball marker and didn’t really find anything with a search. Thanks!

My concern would be that they would back themselves out which would throw off your timing.

Any reason not to use blue loctight? It will seal the threads up hopefully preventing corrosion and holds everything in place

You might risk contaminating your valve seals when reinstalling after you've put it on. That's a might though and can be mitigated by wiping the lower tube out. I'd say go ahead if you want, but is it really necessary now that you've removed and cleaned it up?

I never did that in 30 years of cocker use and building.

I do however recommend the.ones with orings in the face.

Anti-seize makes a mess that stuff travels, I wouldn’t. I would just clean them up put a light coating of marker oil on them. I have never had one back out on me and I never use thread locker on them but some people do. Some bodies have a separate set screw to lock them in place.

Yeah these are all just stock WGP bodies so they all have set screws, I’m not worried about them backing out. But sounds like I should just avoid the anti-seize anyway.

Ohhhh those look nice, does anyone know somewhere to get them other than ANS? That’s the only place I’m seeing them.

Yeah that was where I checked first, but unless I’m dumb (a definite possibility!), I’m not seeing them. They do list them as part of their full lower tube kits, but not individually. Maybe he would sell them to me individually if I asked, he’s seemed like a nice dude when I’ve talked to him in the past.

Alright, thanks all, sounds like it’s not really worth it given potential risk for little reward, I guess I’m overthinking it. Thanks! I’ll look into the nuts with o-rings though, those look good.
