    9/16 vs 11/16 valves?

I don't know where to look for this information, but I've seen some cockers on Inceptions Designs website that are 9/16 and some that 11/16 valves. My web-fu only reveals that some people have discussed operating differences between them, and others about compatibility with XYZ mods/parts.

If anyone has a simple answer to the question what is the difference between 9/16 and 11/16 cocker vales, it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

The simple answer is... they are different sizes. Older autococker bodies take 9/16 sized valves. Newer bodies take 11/16 valves.

Do you have a specific body you are looking at building?

I was looking at ID sleeper and other guns and was curious if there was a difference in maintenance or performance I guess.

If memory serves, the larger valve means a larger area behind the valve, which means more volume of gas between the valve and the regulator. I THINK this means you have a bit more options in tuning with regards to pressure and springs, but the effect on performance should be minimal. Guys have been tuning cockers for years before the 11/16 valve came out. I've not noticed a major difference between 9/16 and 11/16 valve cockers.

if its got 1 screw in detent, then its a 9/16ths valve, if its got "eye covers" it will be 11/16ths
