    Few barrels questions

I bought an Autococker for the first time since 2001. Thing is MINT and I want to grab a couple barrels for it and a possible minicocker build. I have a couple questions regarding size and bore. I’m planning on an OG Dye Boomstick (yes I know they are heavy lol) and possibly a SmartParts All-American.

Can either of those barrels be bored for Freak inserts? What is the most efficient barrel length? I think the Boomstick I had as a kid was 14” but honestly I don’t even know if barrel length matters all that much

Both of those barrels can be freak bored.

If they sit straight they can be bored. If they aren't straight enough, the insert would sit wonky. I've had barrels rejected before so it just depends! BMC is one of the go-to for the service.

Barrel length depend on your personal preference. 14" would be the standard length.
BMC can bore a barrel for freak XL if you want more efficiency. But many player are still using regular 5" freak insert with good results.
Disruptive also make some very good barrel for cheap.
15" barrel 682 bore would be an excellent choice for $15

$15 13" or 15" barrel, and they make it in .676?! Impressive.

BMC is absolutely amazing, just be sure to clean your barrels really well before sending them in.

Also, I've found that barrel length is usually more field dependant then anything else.

For air ball, 14" barrels do really well since they let you wrap the bunkers better.

For woods ball, I normally like to use a 12" barrel. I can play the plywood bunkers tighter with a shorter barrel.

For cave ball, I strongly prefer a 10" barrel so that I can play as tight as possible.

I'm with you on this, accept I hate 14 inch barrels, I prefer 8, 10, 12 inch barrels and on my pumps a 16 inch

those early vert feed WGP spec bodies are awesome! nice pickup. Get a late 90s style 14" barrel, freaK, UL, OR any once piece that can be freak bored.
