LP Valve Worth It?

Are LP valves, especially with a stock hammer, worth it over the stock WGP valves. Thinking about getting a few but don't know if they actually have that much of an improvement over stock lowers.

It really depends on which ones you're looking at, and which WGP valves you're comparing to. If you're comparing the 2k+ spec stuff, there's not much point. There are only a couple that will provide any improvement. But if you're looking at anything pre-2k, it will most likely be worth it regardless of which LP valve you're looking at. That said, it's important to remember that the valve will only get you so much. Springing is just as, if not more, important than the valve itself. The nicest LP valve won't be worth crap if you use the wrong springs. And stock valves can go quite low with the right springs.

The bodies i have are all 2k with Maggot's SLPS kits. Im just trying to see if it is actually worth the cost with what I have already. The regs are still just shy of 300psi and that just seems high to me. Regs are sweat spotted too

Sounds about right. The SLPS springs I've used have sweetspotted right around 300 PSI. A different valve isn't going to help there.

Even the lowest pressure autocockers are around 200psi. 300PSI is quite normal.

To me the question is what are you looking to gain? Are you looking for efficiency? Quiet sound signature?

I'd like to try and squeeze a few more shots out of my 13/3000 and right now the only thing left i can do is an LP valve. But if I'm only going to get 3 more shots then its not worth it, 20 shots then absolutely worth it

LP will decrease efficiency.

LP will give you a softer quieter shot. But you got to get everything working to it’s maximum potential on its lowest operating pressure window.

If you want efficient your better off with high pressure honestly. You want that valve slamming shut as fast as you can so less pressure is used in the process. A property tuned HP setup is going to be more efficient.

You would be better off going with a 17ci then trying to tune for LP if you want to shoot more paint out of your setup.

Low pressure operation is a side effect of tuning for efficiency. I would sweetspot your current setup and go from there... but as already noted, you likely won't see much efficiency gains by switching valves, 2k+ stock WGP is already great.

Staying with what I got, if there's no need or real benefit then what's the point.

When tuned “optimally” - Both low and high pressure will provide the same shot to shot air efficiency.

Low pressure will allow you to get a few more shots when the tank is running out.

there are lower hanging fruit to get better efficiency - Such as reducing reciprocating mass, tight barrel to paint matching, dual oring bolt, and reducing friction.
