So I gutted the HPA, capped the LPR and put a stock WGP LPR on it, added a Palmers Fatty, and hooked it all up, bracing myself for the inevitable hissing and hoses popping off, but amazingly, it sealed up and works. No idea what the pressures are, or the velocity, but whatever. It's working

Nicely done! Protip - if you need over 400psi to get to proper velocity, swap out the hammer spring. It's probably worn out.

Cocker hammer springs work well with a coil or two cut off to get to the right length.

What's the best way to get to the Hammer spring?

Looks like i'm a bit low and edging towards 400psi.....though this was with the stock blunderbuss sounding barrel. Perhaps a tighter bore would also increase the FPS a tad.

Some disassembly is required... you need to pull the ram assembly off the front to access the mainspring.

Pull the upper receiver, pull the bolt link, remove the front pinch bolt, pull hoses off of ram QEVs. Use a twisting motion (CW) to get the ram assembly out. Replace hammer spring. I'd recommend double checking your carrier spacing if you haven't already, as well as MadMarty mods.

I'd suggest using a mid-strength spring from a Cocker kit. You might need to cut a couple of coils off to make it fit properly - not a big deal, I do it all the time. Good side-cutters work best.


You can also try a lighter valve spring - I've had the best luck replacing the mainspring, though.
