Just got one and would like to know if it is safe to dry fire. I remember hearing that some BE guns (raptor i think) can be damaged.

The reason the raptor got damaged is because the hammer had a nub on its face. That nub mashed into the valve body, deforming it and causing the valve stem to bind.
If your Poison has the same nub on the face of the hammer, then yes, it could theoretically cause the same problem. Disassemble it and have a look
