Trying to track down a bucket changer for a pre-dye buzzard. Was wondering if somebody in this group can help me out. Or if its possible to change its air source to a bottle

On the bottom of that threded piece up front there should be a spot for a big Allen key. That will remove the piercing pin assembly and the top should be threaded for a standard ASA (Lefty Lucy). You could replace that with a CCI bucket, ICD changer, Rat Attack or run a bottle directly into it small CO2 tank or Tippman makes a nice 3k 9ci bottle that works really well on a vert ASA setup. Finding an original Carter bucket will be difficult. But in the mean time you will be able to use what you got.
Thats a really nice Buzzard that dark green looks great!
If you Run HPA you will probably want High pressure assuming it is sprung for 12g. (800-850psi tank reg input)
The 9ci Tippman tanks come stock @800psi so that should be good but you might have to go in a bit on the TPC to hit field speed. 825-850 will just give you more range of adjustment. (Except 125-150shots on a 9ci 3k) perfect for a Stick fed marker setup.
If you take the marker apart be very careful as Carters can very easily be cross threaded and stripped out. You can always add stainless threaded inserts down the road as a permanent fix. But Carters don’t come standard like that. If you don’t have experience adding them send it to someone who dose if you ever need to.
Post up in the WTB section for a Carter Bucket changer this place will be your best chance of finding one for sure. Good luck.
Doc’s Machine can also make you a Carter style stock for that if you want. I have several from him as well as original Carter L stocks and his are really nice.

Oh that stinks I could have sworn mine did mine must have been new style buckets then. Strap wrench is your best bet then I would say. Careful not to booger those threads just in case you find a bucket missing a top. Did they wrench flats in them at the top maybe. I would still use a strap wrench so it don’t mar the Ano.

Wealth of knowledge, i knew i came to the right place. Ill definitely be mindful of the threads if i decide to dig in to this marker myself. Hopefully i can track down a bucket changer or use a Phantom on until i can find a replacement. Ill also look in to those 9ci tanks, sounds like a nice light alternative. Whats the best place to reach Doc's Marchine, does he have a website? I would Love to get a L stock for this thing. Thank you so much for the great advice.

Jtrmorga1 pretty much every Carter bucket changer that I've ever used didn't work without something in the bottom of it to shim the 12 gr so it would seal. I've never had to do that with a CCI bucket changer or heard of anyone having to do it.

If you drop an oring behind the piercing pin tighten it in up to it, with some light hold thread locker on the piercing pin threads it spaces it properly for modern 12g without the need to drop anything in the bucket bottom. I did this on a lot of the ones I had that had this issue. I added threaded inserts to a lot of the ones I had over the years to those I glue in with the devils sauce.
