What Valve Body?

Making a dedicated bottom-line OC Phantom. Right now, built with spare parts on hand, it is running a back-bottle valve.

What is the best valve body for this situation?

My thought was to just run a swivel 90 in the back of the valve, and run a straight line down to the side of the ASA. The issue with thar would be if I had to switch hands mid-game.

Or should I reach out to one of the members here and have him convert it to a gas-thru grip?

Old vert-feed body and Lapco "MicroShot" barrel were provided by Cunha . This body will eventually make its way to ASP for detents, once my SC body gets back.

Gas through with an M16 grip is less easy; the common solutions are to run straight down like a "thumbhole" stock, or to use a 12" hose that loops forward a long ways like you frequently see on mags.

If you want to go gas through grip, a .45 block is the best first step, then figuring out what's important to you - field stripping typically becomes complicated but some people have handled it better than others.

Its funny, one of the things going through my mind was "what about those long a** lines people use to run on Automags..." lol

Ha , have you ever been told you over think stuff ? Throw a couple fittings and some macro or braided hose and give it a go.

Another option would be to get a vertical adapter setup. But instead of the bucket changer, just run the airline to the vertical adapter. That would get your airline out of the way. you don't necessarily need the VSC valve body with the hard line kit. You can use macroline, microcline or braided line and appropriate fittings to the vertical adapter from the back bottle valve you have. Its not the prettiest, but it would totally be functional and get your airline out of the way for switching hands during a game.

Check out the Phantom Show off pages there are some good examples of what your options are. There are lots of them. Easiest would be just an ASA plug a straight fitting and a 90* with some standard line. This is best used for HPA if you plan on running 12g or Co2 I recommend using braided hose instead.

You could get a VSC valve body and loop it forward directly to the ASA or use the same Asa plug and go off the Vert Asa.

regular VSC body with a loop of stainless line is my prefered way, but straight from the back bottle down to the ASA works great too.
