How do you aim w/ stock class marker?

Not just Phantoms, but other stock class markers. Like others, I can't seem to hit anything with the over-the-barrel handle and horizontal feed. Open class vert feed with a tank, no problem.
I keep telling myself that "one day" I will grab another stock class setup, hopefully with the intentions of actually keeping and using it.

I know it's an age old question, but stock vs no stock, UC pump vs over barrel, any other tips for landing shots when you're used to a VF semi auto (or open class sniper)?

I typically would site down the side of the barrel (provided there is a UC kit.) I can’t site if the pump wraps around the barrel. I usually cock the bottom of the marker out 45* or so to make it easier to see

My Walz is a LH feed with wood stock and “iron sights” so I site it more like I would a traditional rifle

    that’s just me

I channel my Zen, mostly just reaction shots. If I have to aim like I'm waiting for someone to pop out, I look down the barrel. If im using my PGP, I have sights

Haha yyeeppp...I may need to build a stock class sniper, or stock class feed + a P stock and small tank

Over the top down the stock feed. Ghost rings can help to keep you from trying to line up the barrel within your sight picture. In addition I keep both eyes open and really pay attention to the flight of the ball. With practice you will do it by instinct.

I notice a lot of newish players to stock feed tend to shoot high and it looks like to me they are trying to sight down the stock feed and the barrel at the same time and without a raised site post at the end of the barrel this will cause the marker to point upward over the target.

I aim my markers all the same way regardless of what I shoot. I look at the target and point shoot using the outside edge of barrel in my peripheral‘s. I try and aim at my target threw my cover as if it’s not there so I don’t need to come out adjust then fire that split second helps a lot when you get close. Good gunfighters are not really aiming up close its more about mussel memory and practice then anything. Long ball shots I might actually aim a lil. But it’s not something I do often with my SC markers. I will pass on long ball shots in favor of field position 100% of the time. Electro, Mech, or Open Class I might take a few hail merry shots. But if I’m shooting Stock Class I like to shoot at what I know I can hit Vs what I think I can hit. Often I’m only carrying 50 shots on me so I like to make them count.

In my opinion, vsc phantom with undercocking kit + stock is easier to aim than any other phantom configuration. That said, I probably get 90% of my eliminations without “aiming”. Just reactionary point and shoot, no matter what platform I’m using. Best way to work on your aim is pick a marker that feels right, and shoot the hell out of it while the others collect dust. Muscle memory is real, and takes time to develop

I too have been wondering this. Coming from an Open Class Sniper aiming does feel a bit "off" with a Phantom. I doubt I could hit the broad side of a barn without a stock.

It takes a bit of practice and getting used to it ...I couldn't go back to center feed as a primary, it just feel too wired to me ...

As for stock, I think it comes down to preference:
                  - I LOVE stock with spring feed and open class and tiny tanks & hopper (I'm more and more enjoying a 50rd hopper with a 9ci in the vasa ...)
                  - I HATE stock with rock'n'cock
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

I had a terrible time hitting anything with the Grey Ghost last weekend at Slim's. I just chalked it up to never playing with that particular gun before that day, but there was something that definitely felt 'off' about it compared to any of my Cockers or space guns.

Over barrel pumps take some getting use to. I shot my Gargoyle early Saturday and was consistently shooting over my intended mark by a bit. It all comes down to getting the feel for each marker it’s less about aiming and more about mussel memory. It’s similar to the pop-it vs Spool feel difference. Also if I recall correctly you didn’t have a stock on that ghost. Try a stock I find they feel a lot more stable when I have something to shoulder.

Right offset phantom with an undercocking kit was game changing for me. Otherwise, with normal nelsons I need sights of some sort for reference.

The marker matters not. I intuitively weld a grip and look at what I'm shooting at. I guess you could consider it sighting down the barrel but the barrel isn't linear in my field of view, it's coming in from the right and pointing at the target. I don't own any 3 tube guns so I'm not sure if it would be different for them, but I highly doubt it.

It's also how I hold all my rifles for shooting at moving targets (deer in the brush) If you train yourself to trust how you hold the weapon it will point where you want it too at short ranges just by looking at the target.

It's also why I can't shoot a VSC phantom without a stock. I need to have the marker fixed to my body at some point.
