    Phantom revolution

Can you guys help me understand the Phantom Revolution? what exactly was CCI seeking to accomplish with this design? Does anyone have one to share first hand experience?

capitalpaintball has one that he uses semi-regularly. I think AnarchicArctic had one at some point as well.

They're a bit of a strange design, and suffered from flaws upon release, though I believe Mike Cassady remedied the issues as soon as they were brought to his attention. I don't think they sold very well due to people expecting a Phantom-level of reliability since they needed a little tinkering to get just right. I'm sure others can weigh in with more info.

Thanks for sharing. I suppose I don't really know what the goal was in the development. Hoping for more insight

I never got all of this straight from Mike but he was working on a semi-automatic version of the Phantom for years but there seemed to be little apatite for a semi-nelson so that really went no where. From what I gathered Mike took some of the design/engineering he was developing for the Semi-Phantom and adapted it to make a very low force cocking system for a pump. Originally you cocked the marker with a finger on a little hook under the barrel. Later at the request of some owners he adopted a more traditional pump handle and helped figure out solutions to some of the teething issues with the Revolution. So few sold Mike shelved to project while still maintaining basic support to original buyers. As Jonny said capitalpaintball (Dave) is one of the most knowledgeable people I know about the Revolution not sure he knows the development history or not though.

TLDR: When the "return to pump" craze hit and some in the industry were helping fill the niche market with products Mike took some of his R&D efforts and developed a low pump force marker that really never got the support from the paintball community it should have.

I had two for awhile, one was custom built by Mike at the end of the run. It was indeed a semi under the hood, all the pump did was load a ball, stroke was super light like clicking a pen. The primary problem folks had with them was double feeding. Tons of breaks. Drilling for cocker detents or running a reverse stickfeed solved the issues. Velocity adjustment could be finicky, but once you dial it in it’s not really a problem. Other than that I remember them being thirsty. Like level 7 mag thirsty
