Feedneck stub - Anodized or raw?

So, I designed a thing. I had some made in plastic, next step is metal (after enough people try the plastic and agree it doesn't suck).

It adapts an Empire spec feedneck or springfeed to a CCI stock class body. The only real difference from the CCI threaded base is that this one sits lower, and uses a shorter screw as a result.

If I make them in metal, the biggest question is finish. The second biggest question is batch size. Who wants one, and do you want raw aluminum, or dust black anodizing?

Nice!What plastic and additive mfg method is that part made from? It looks lightly a heavily grit blasted aluminum - which is a good look imo.

HP Multijet Fusion, which is sort of a weird hybrid photo-cured SLA type thing, for the folks at home. I think it's GF Nylon 12... probably should take the time to check. The glass means it makes a nice "tinkle" sound when you throw it on a hard surface.

ooo.. fancy. Has the gf damaged any of your anodizing?

I suppose it could... it's not moving much, but yeah, the glass could be abrasive. I'll keep that in mind if I ever do a pump handle.

I'd rather black, it'll be functional out of the box and since it's not a critical tolerance part it's no big deal to reano if it's going on a custom project.

Now, if I've learned anything form Apple it's that you need to release these in silver only. Never let the customer tell you what to do.

Cool! I have a SCC adapter that dose the same thing but yours it a lot cleaner being all one piece. How dose it feed?

If you make them definitely do anodized gloss black it’s the most common color and won’t look out of place on custom / fancy ano markers. I think it will sell the best in gloss black for sure. I would buy one for sure. You could sell them with an empire/ Inception feedneck to I bet. That would be a popular option for those that have a hard time finding open class feeds from extreme. You could easily add an extra tab for the CCM market because people love clamping feed necks and CCM dose not offer the best solution for clamping options. It looks clean I like the design!

I gotta be honest... I didn't even think about the "how's it feed" question since it should be straightforward with a hopper. The stack height on the spring feed is worth testing, though.

Also - can anyone confirm that on a CCM the hole is the same distance as a CCI? I might go for symmetric if that's the case. Or snub my nose at those stacked tube maniacs and not.

If that single tab was mirrored to the other side it would bolt on a CCM. Your piece will bolt on a CCM as is with one screw and work. But CCM just uses two screw mounts the CCI and CCM base are interchangeable. CCM just mount with two screws vs the CCI with one only due to the Stock Class body only having one screw mount location.

When do the brass ones ship? Honestly, a beautiful product. I would go with anno'd black. gives you better protection against shipping issues, and foolish people destroying them before getting them out to anno.

Just thinking...if you made them with two holes, you could target the Spyder market as well.

Really, quantity dependent. I'll be on the hook for several hundred dollars to get these made; I'm hoping that, at $25 - 30 each, I can move 25 - 30 of them. Then at least I'd cover my cost. But I don't do facebook, which probably hurts my chances. If only 5 people want them, I'm gonna get hosed.

I wouldn’t worry about not moving them here if you make them. Just follow this easy to execute plan:

Step 1: Toss them on eBay
Step 2: Facebook will find them
Step 3: ...
Step 4: Profit!
