I know very little about this lil guy I picked up in a big lot of gear. Is there an ASA (or better, an ON/OFF) option that levels out the tank angle to match the barrel, rather than being at a slight decline? I discovered the CCM frames that are perfectly flat on the bottom, but turns out finding one of those is difficult/expensive. Thanks!

Horizontal tank mounting options?

Your bigger challenge may be to find an ASA that doesn't mount at an UPwards angle because of the design of the bottom of the CCI .45 grip blocks. ASP/Airsoldier used to make mounting wedges with integrated rails that corrected the upward sweep of these .45 blocks but they may be out of production now.

What matters is where the end if the tank ends up. If your HPA tank is the same size as a CO2 tank then nothing changes. You shoulder the gun the same way.
If you flatten the angle you make the gun less tall. You can “fix” this self inflicted “problem” with a huge drop-down, but why? Then what, get a sight rail because the gun is so low?
If you’re trying to put some huge football sized speedballer tank on there I guess thats your thing. I think you’ll find Phantoms are usually more fun when they are still light.

Thank you everyone. Admittedly yes, I am wanting it to feel like a more modern setup. I also wanted the option to have a big tank for situations like Supergame, where you could be out in the middle of a game for like an hour and the fill station is a quarter mile hike through the woods. Carrying a lot of paint is easy, carrying a lot of air in the form of dozens of 12g's or multiple tanks is not as easy. Or hell, maybe it is - I've never done it! I'll get out there and try this setup out before making any rash decisions.

Pull the CCI/EV bottom line and replace it with a Duckbill ASA and it will get you closer to level:
I never was a fan of CCI's bottom line even though I own a few. I do not like the large drop in angle it feels more awkward to hold then a less angled bottom line.
There are all sorts of AR to 1911 grip blocks out there and some are flat bottomed that is what is essentially used on a Phantom.

If you don't have the scratch to completely replace the grip block you can look around for an adapter that yields the angle you want.
I ended up using an old ACI bottomline adapter with mine, though I had to carve off a little material with my dremel to get it to sit just right.
