    Question about Cup Seals

My S5 has had a slight leak down the barrel ever since I got it, and I've narrowed it down to a worn cup seal (pictures below).

Is this type of cup seal replaceable? It doesn't seem to be an o-ring, it's like some kind of teflon gasket and I made it much worse by trying to dig it out. I'm running out of hope for salvaging it and will probably have to replace the whole valve. Too bad CCM is out of stock of everything.

You shoud call them and see if it’s proprietary or if they can direct you to something else? They might have some in stock and it not on their website.

Definitely give them a call. They are still making valves regularly and the current model is really excellent.

If it's anything like my s6.5 valve, the top hat should unscrew from the stem, and then it's just an o-ring that sits below the hat, size N70-011.

Sweet, I'll give it a shot!
Edit: No luck so far, it doesn't want to budge.

Mine has an allen key slot on the top hat, not sure yours does. I had to hold the stem while wearing gorilla grips to provide the proper grip. It's loctited.

Ah ok, no allen key slot in mine, the top is flat. I couldn't get a good grip on it at all either. I've reached out to CCM and am waiting to get a response.

For anyone curious, this is the email reply I got from CCM. I'm patiently waiting for new valves to come up for sale.

"This is a very old valve, probably around 2005 or so. The valve hat should unscrew from the valve stem but it may be held together with loc-tite. We haven't made this valve in so long that I'm not sure what the exact specs are but the cup seal appears to be either a square-profile o-ring or some type of washer. I don't think we have anything that would work as a replacement for that seal so the best option might be to replace the valve assembly."

The new valves are 100% rebuildable I would just get a new valve. Worst case you could just throw any valve in it. Valves make very little difference it’s all in the springs.

          Happy ending to the story:
New valves came up for sale on the CCM website last week. I got one and a new set of springs because why not? Reassembled it last night and it airs up with no leaks! Looking forward to finally playing with this old gun.
