I’m seeing these X Brand bolt engines for the G3/E1 on eBay. Anybody know anything about them? If anybody’s used one, what advantages does it have over the stock bolt? Primarily interested in performance in regards to bolt stick.

I actually just found out about these. Apparently they were made by New Designz, but were never released. They're now being liquidated under the X Brand. It's very similar to the TechT L7 bolt, which is infinitely better than the stock bolt. Lighter, more efficient, less kick, more reliable. Not sure if these NDZ bolts work as well, but at the price they're selling for I'd say it's worth a shot. Not to mention they're easier to source.

Will do. In fairness though, I haven’t played a ton with the E1 so it’ll be hard for me to say how it affects efficiency. I should have enough playtime with it to tell a difference in shot quality & sound signature. Says it’ll be here Friday. I’m not 100% sure I’m playing Saturday or not so it could be a couple of weeks before I’m able to report back.

Full disclosure, I still have the housing for the threshold… if you look at the Techt bolt there’s a spring loaded housing that uses the stock bolt cap.. so I don’t need the entire rear portion, I’ll see if it screws in, but if it’s the same as the G3 it will be significantly larger than the threshold back cap

I’m not familiar with the Threshold bolt but the problem with the E1 is where the threads are in relation to back of the body. The bolt does in fact thread in but, because there’s so much more meat on the E1 past the bolt threads than G3, the Xbrand bolt sits flush is a real pain to get out.

Oh dang, that's unfortunate. Does the bolt line up in the breach correctly or is it off too?
If it does line up, you can always use a dremel or hacksaw and cut a small groove for a flathead screwdriver. It's ugly but it would work.
