    Emek Going Full Auto

I went out to play with my MG100 this weekend. It's all stock aside from an Inception Fang trigger. The first game of the day was fine, but the second game it started going full auto. I'm aware of the 3way oring 'mod' that can do this. I also vaguely remember reading that this is possible for this to happen if there isn't enough pre-travel for the valve to reset properly? Or maybe that was another issue? It was also approximately -5°c at the time could that have played a factor? I shot about 200rds during the week prior where it was above freezing and it was fine.

I had a similar issue, and a switch oring replacement fixed it.

From Jack Wood over at PBN:

"OK, info on if you have a problem with the Gmek firing multiple shops per trigger pull:

The issue isn't with the frame. It will be a seal in the Gamma core.

This is just showing up a fault on one of 3 seals in the drivetrain.

    The three o-rings are:

    1) The front 020 NBR70 on the valve body. Replace this with the 20x2 NBR70 that came in the Gmek spares baggy. Do this first.

    If it still fires FA,

    2) the forward 015 NBR70 on the switch. Replace this with an 016 NBR70

    3) the forward 012 NBR70 on the rear of the main spool. Clean and grease this.

    That will fix the issue."

Thanks for the input guys. I didn't have a 20x2mm oring so I just replaced it with a fresh 020 oring. My switch also already had an 016 oring on it but I also renewed it and the 012 spool oring. I also regreased the entire bolt assembly and 3 way. All the orings looked fine. The gun is about 2 years old and has only had maybe 1000rds through it. Cycles fine now. I also left it out in the garage for a few hours to try and recreate the conditions but it was still fine. Everyone else's Emeks seemed to be working fine that day. Mine had a 2 round burst at the start of the first game but it was fine for the rest of the game so I wrote it off as the thick gloves I was wearing. Then it went full auto at the very beginning of the second game.

When I got home after playing I tried cycling and it went full auto; rapid for a few shots but then cycling slowed down significantly (to maybe 4bps) and I could hear a hiss coming from somewhere between cycles while the trigger was pulled. Something similar happened last year but I had just installed the Fang trigger and again it was cold so I wrote it off as that. I shot it around in my backyard a few times throughout the spring, summer and fall and it was fine. And again it was fine just last week.

How much grease does everyone use on these? I know Jack Wood says to "wet" the orings in his tech videos, but the amount of white I see around the orings looks more than just wet to me.

Normally a clean and lube resolve this btw. Rare to have to replace the o-rings.

I use more lube than recommended. I have a fascination of wanting to fill in the gaps I see around the o-rings.

Don't forget the 'switch' which you need to either tap out, or pull out with a rocket swab tip
