On my gun Part 24 Valve End Plug appears to be sealed with teflon tape. The cap slot displays idiot marks common to guns thus old.

That bumper is very similar to Cat bumpers. The rubbery material is probably press fit.

As an aside, a Google search yields very few Line SI Promaster photos. Fewer still have the bumper.

You mentioned going to the source in Idaho... Do you actually have contact info?

Wouldn't it be Jerry at Indian Creek Designs? Or was he not connected with its design and manufacture?

I'm not sure... ICD is the successor to Line SI, or at least the place where inventory went and manuals can be downloaded, but I don't know what the connection is exactly

I always assumed Indian Creek Designs was just a Line SI rebrand after Ross Alexander had left the sport....I kinda figured Jerry was doing all the heavy lifting anyway as far as design and production went, and Alex even credits him as the inventor/Designer of the Bushmaster in this Article which Bacci saved.

            https://paintballhistory.com/ross-al...heck-may-1990/

All I was able to find on the actual transition from Line SI to ICD on Bacci's site was this sparse link:

            https://paintballhistory.com/indian-creek-designs/

The waters are murky enough that the history of paintball article on ANS gear actually claims that ICD manufactured the Bushmaster Pump, it's only one little line in a long article but it's there:

            https://ansgear.com/the-history-of-paintball/

I think it's also pretty telling that Indian Creek Designs recycled both the Bushmaster and the Promaster names in their electros too, AND it's telling that the PRP is essentially a modernized Bushmaster.

I know the factory Mule Line SI Promaster I picked up was originally purchased directly from Jerry and ICD's address is on the shipping label.

One of these days I'll get around to emailing Gary about the factory Mule Promaster and see if I can get him to poke Jerry about the transition from Line SI to ICD.... probably not a good idea to email him about it right now though, I have been bugging him with endless freestyle questions a lot lately and they are very much still an operational machine shop with active contracts being filled.

After Line SI became ICD, I'm fairly certain there was a brief period where ICD produced ICD Bushmaster pumps. IIRC they look a bit more plain and utilitarian compared to the 88-90 Bushmasters.

It's weird in that paintcheck magazine skips out on the Bushmaster. The Bushmaster was the first gun, and was originally an upgrade kit and then turned into the deluxe and pointman derivitives that were new from the grip up. In those models you have removeable barrels and a few other features. The Skirmish, especially in that time frame (when the advantage was being sold) was the budget paintball gun- fixed barrel.

According to the salesman at Skirmish the Store who sold me my Bushmaster my used Left feed Bushmaster Deluxe (for $250) was used for one season (for all intents and purposes it had no detectable wear) by one of the store sponsored teams (he wasn't any more specific and, I knew nothing of teams at the time). This article would lead me to believe it was used by one of the players on one of the three or four US teams mentioned in the article. I had quite a few conversations with the Henry Gilbert mentioned in the article, as he sold me my first Bushmaster upgrades, my first hopper (the pre-motorized loader) and goggles (JT Whipper Snappers) and several upgrades for the goggles and, gun.

So I'm not crazy, I always though ICD kept producing the bushmaster pumps for a little while too when they first started, but since that was long before my time in paintball, I had no clue where I got that idea from. That really just lends more credibility to my theory that ICD was just a Line SI rebrand once Ross left and Jerry was fully in the drivers seat.
