    Clone info (Misfit)

I’ve been a Piranha loyalist as far as STBB are concerned for my entire paintball experience (22yrs). I’ve never had any complaints. As the market for STBB’s keeping getting cheaper I thought I’d try a fixing up some other brands. My question about the Misfit is about the valve. Do other Spyders use that spring loaded valve/cup seal design? It seems like a brilliant idea. The spring loaded detent is nice, and the reg although functional seems unnecessary. Any thoughts our advice is appreciated. Thanks

No other Spyder uses that valve style, which is pretty neat. The VS2 balance valve is probably the closest "made by Spyder" valve in operation. I imagine the spring in this case is fairly soft and so would let you use pretty low pressure.

The Madman Rocket valve is the the nearest aftermarket valve that resembles the Misfit one. It has a similar very large cupseal and a reversed spring. Much more open design but I would expect to work very nearly the same.

A funny mod you can do on a stock Spyder is remove the valve spring entirely and rely solely on air pressure to seal the valve shut. It's an experience and super quirky.

I’m looking forward to tinkering with it. I like to play at a Co2 only field which make this ideal
