Another note about the vs series cups, they have a very small hole if I'm not mistaken in the middle.

They are tough to service and would certainly be difficult to reproduce. Too bad because they are great but I can see why the concept was replaced.

Would a VS swap even be worth doing at this point? Or would another lp valve be better?

the VS cup does have a hole in it. this things got more ports than a cruise ship. lol
they were somewhat popular back in the day since they would fit into almost any spyder and could be purchased for cheap. Since they dont make the VS anymore and kingman isnt really a thing, they are hard to find. but so is any other spyder specific product at this point.
even if you dump a whole bunch of $ into an old spyder, you could still buy a new(er) marker for about the same cost and it would run rings around the spyder.

its like a classic car. i have a 68 camaro with a 5.7 SBC. it maybe has 200hp... a modern civic will out accelerate, out handle, and out brake the camaro. but the camaro has a cool classic factor that the civic dosent have.

worth it? probably not financially. but you dont do it to make or save money. you do it for the enjoyment.

I dunno about in comparison to other LP builds, but the vs2 setup is much smoother shooting than a standard spyder. It also takes the guess work out of tuning springs and stuff if you use the full vs2 setup.

If your goal is to achieve a efficient, smooth, low pressure stack tubed mechanical blow-back... then yes. You still run into the fact that it is a Spyder and not all bodies perform the same. However I found it to be the smoothest valve when compared to the rocket valve, modded stock valve, or magnaport valve.

The AKA tornado valve is arguably the best, but you need the bolt, and other stuff too for the performance to really shine. It should be easier to run the VS valve at say 250 psi, because that is what it was made to do out of the box.

Thanks for the info. I was really just wondering for the fact that rebuilding them will be more of a pain than others, and the days being numbered for the cup seals.
