LP STBB: What Kind of Volume is Required?

As many of you may know, I have a Mokal Fokus that I'm planning on running LP. These have massive volume (valve retaining screw is at the grip screw in trigger guard). It already has a volumizer, but I'm wondering if it would be worth running a bottomline Max Flo rather than a vertical reg to keep the volume in the foregrip?

I was thinking of running a VS valve, but now I'm hearing there's issues with them not being rebuildable? Is there another valve you guys would recommend? Something better?

Already having a volumizer doesn’t mean it have the best airflow. Add or widen air passage.
    Aka valve

    what your running psi goal?

With the VS valve I was just planning on running it as low as it would go. With some other type of valve I'd just sweet spot it.

The AKA Tornado valve has reigned king ever since it the market. The NDZ valve is a much cheaper alternative and can achieve decent results sub 400 psi.

If you want to go the expensive route: Aka valve, trinity front bloc and to replace a Alamo hammer I’d choose the TechT hammer(I can sell you this) and a spring kit for fine tuning. Shoud be below 300psi.

I have not seen build keeping a gas through grip for volume.

The VS balance valve you really want to run under 350 psi. The Stock VS2 runs ~220-250 psi. Above 350 psi you run the risk of blowing out the internal o-rings inside the valve.
What operating pressure can you run at? You will need to trial and error that is what is fun about messing with Spyders.

Setup your gun, set the HPR to 200 psi, put a barrel bag over the barrel to give some force resistance, then dry fire while raising PSI until you reliably cycle. Then chrono and see what your velocity is.

You shouldn't need a super strong striker spring to run the balance valve, but a lighter valve spring might help. The force to open the valve is much lower than a normal valve, especially the lower you drop PSI the resistance to open the valve is also much lower.

This is the set up I've used to get to my lowest psi with a non VS valve. I ran a MaxFlo from a PVI Shocker and it was working well at 200psi or thereabouts.

I had a VS valve running on an E99 with a vertical reg; it did quite fine. I'm sure you can fine tune further, but I wouldn't worry about anything not working.
