    Millenium Build - Sear won't release

    Working on my first spyder build with a BL Millenium I snagged off facebook a couple years ago.
    I am having trouble swapping out the frame for a Benchmark double trigger frame. Gun cocks fine but when I pull the trigger the hammer does not release. I swap back on the original BL frame and it cycles fine (no-air).

    Anyone have any tips / know if there is a known compatibility issue.

    Continued tinkering and added small o-rings around the mounting screws and between the frame and body. Used it like variable shim based on how much I tighten it down. Leaving about a .05" gap allowed it to release. I am not sure it would be a good idea to play with it in this state, I would be concerned about sear wear.

    I noticed that it releases at the very end of the trigger pull, I would almost say there is no post travel movement. (not sure if this matters)

      Releasing late in the trigger throw sounds like the striker engagement end of the sear is getting pushed down too far, and the trigger sear can’t reach the other end to trip it. Are you transferring internals between the frames? Comparing the frames side by side are the trigger/sear pivot pins in noticeably different positions?

        Sounds like the frame was designed for newer spyder spec (slim hammer).. the .75” hammers catch point would be .031 lower than its .6875 counterpoint moving that release point further and further in the trigger pull

        should be pretty easy to measure the sear pin and trigger pin locations relative to the top of the frame.

          This makes total sense. Know that I think about it, I did pull the trigger frame off a a gun that has the slim hammer. I just didn't put one and one together. Ill continue building it up with the original frame and maybe in the future I'll take on coming up with a solution to get them to work together, probably won't work but I enjoy tinkering.

            If I was a betting man... I would guess that the trigger itself is Identical... its likely only the sear is different. may be worth checking out if you have some accurate measurement tools
