Yep! I discovered this when I got my crbn barrels mixed up. I have one that takes the pwr inserts, one cocker thread that takes XL, and one luxe thread that takes XL. The tip and back will thread together, but inserts don't fit the same. I have considdered getting a custom bit made so I could possibly run a nano tip on a luxe back

depends.. standard rifling doesn’t impart a whole ton of spin. nemesis splines impart a shit ton.. I’ve turned down barrels into inserts, but your lathe needs to be pretty dialed.. between centers and an expanding insert inside the ends of the barrel works well

That is doable. I wouldn’t want to start with a $75 insert though. lol.

Hmmmmm. So close. I'm assuming that would be basically impossible to turn down?

Rifled pwr inserts actually thread into a pwr back. Not all pwr backs can accept them. My PE S63 back is threaded to take a rifled insert, my DYE FC-i back is not.

I have a dw x8. I'd need the whole pwr barrel just to run that insert.

I'd prefer to just have an insert for the x8 so I don't need a whole separate barrel system for one marker

Still looking at options, I don't have the money for anything right now anyway but the hammerhead barrel is still on the table as well

friction from the orings keeps it from spinning.

At least my DW X8 I wouldn't worry about it. They are in there pretty good.

Does the pwr have any way to prevent it from turning?

but you can probably “grind” off the back behind the threads of a XL barrel back to make it PWR ready. Im sure somebody does that conversion.
That might work but I'm not sacrificing my barrel to do it. This is the same barrel I use on everything else

If it is just cutting down a PWR insert, it wouldn't be that difficult. If you had to turn the outside down that starts to get into the ehhh realm.
    That's not a bad thought.

Anyone have a pwr insert they can measure for me?
