    Blazer Feednecks

Can you fine folks please school me on what feednecks can be fitted to a Blazer? I've got a Blazer on its way to me now, so I can't measure anything in person yet. Once the stock neck is cut off, the leftover stub is 7/8" OD, right? Palmers sells a feedneck, but I think I'd prefer one that has a lever lock. What other feednecks will fit? It seems like there are a lot of Empire/Eclipse feednecks, but those interface with a locking groove on the stub, which obviously isn't present on the Blazer, barring sending it out to be machined.

Back when I had a Blazer, I put an 07 Ego feedneck on it. The PE feednecks have a slightly too large diameter for the the feed tube. Once you have cut the feed tube to the height you want, cut a 3/4 copper pipe to the same height. You'll split the tube and remove a small portion of the copper pipe. It will be an open "C" at this point. Fit the copper spacer over your feed tube then fit the PE feedneck over it. You will need to thin the copper spacer a bit to allow the PE feedneck over it. It's pretty easy with a rotary tool or hand files even. Once it's on and the screwed tight, it won't move.

at 7/8 you should be able to use an empire style feedneck. empire spec is .885 and the groove i want to say is down to .860.
If you need help cutting or also need a feedneck i can do both and located on the east coast (Mount Pleasant,sc)

Lapco works fine with no spacer as well.

Palmers sells upgraded ones. I added one recently and I like it.

Yes, I saw that. Theirs doesn't have a locking lever, instead it uses a socket head cap screw, which means getting out a tool to put on or take off the hopper. For the convenience, I'd rather have a lever locking feed neck.

You can always replace the bolt with a cam lock assembly but in the long run I'd just go with any of the existing 7/8 hopper adapters for 7/8" feednecks. I use a tube cutter and a ream to cut down my Blazer Feed neck (no longer own). I already own the tube cutter and reamer so not a big job and not worried about the aesthetics.

Make it easy on yourself: If you are using a older style 06 Ego lever locking feedneck that has a larger OD that the feedtube, go to a hobby store and buy a strip of plastic. These plastic strips are used for model parts and cut it with scissors to be used as a spacer between the feedneck and the feedtube. I did this and it has stayed on for over a decade and still going strong. Cost was $0.50 I think...

Just use the stock neck with tape and be happy
