    Stroker rebuild

Need some advice on this rebuild. I’ll post questions here.

how does the aluminum grip come off? How do people mount stocks?

The bolt was seized in there with a gummy oring. Too a lot of heat and force to get out.

The aluminum grip probably has a setscrew on the underside, Loosen that and it should slide off. There may be more than one.

As for mounting a stock or bottomline, you need what's known as a UMB, or Universal Mounting Bracket. It's two thin plates that go between the grip frame and the grip panels, and has a place to mount tanks or rails at the bottom.

          thanks DocsMachine
Looked like there was one set screw but it was missing. I heated it up and whacked it with a rubber mallet. It came off. Looked like they used electrical tape for a friction fit.

Next question: to remove the LPR “cap” do I punch out the two hollow pins?

              Yes.

Cdn_Cuda has a writeup on his Hurricane (stickied at the top) that should help you.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

That helped. I should have kept scrolling.

I attacked this vasa in a few different directions, don’t want to damage anything.

How does the vasa come off? The exploded view on the pps tech repository is hard to make out if they are threads or press fit. I would guess threads. Tried strap wrench and soft jaw vice.

Heat (torch, not heatgun) and padded vicegrips. A piece of old belt works great as padding.

The VASAs are red loctited on and torqued down pretty tight, but they're SS and pretty much unbreakable.

I was able to get the LPR piston out with a 1/4” extension and a few magnets.

                Looking good.

Acetone helps a lot to cut down the black mayo ...

Don’t have any acetone on hand, maybe just drop it in a bucket of vegan mayo

Well it’s apart. I thought that vasa might crack with how much pressure and heat I threw at it. I can not believe those few threads held on that tight - some serious force.

Where does this part go marked with yellow? It’s not in the reference exploded view.

Spacer for the LPR assembly- goes in the lower tube between the steel washer and the LPR spring.

PPS uses chunks of old LPR components as spacers in a lot of their brass guns.... I think I've only ever seen one purpose made Delrin spacer.
