    Trracer trigger sticking.

Hey guys. Trracer question for you.

The trigger on mine sticks. Badly. Like grinding-sticky badly. I pulled the trigger, cleaned everything out, nothing fixed it. The trigger was physically hard to pull out, so it seems like I should just sand down the sides of the trigger a bit... Would that be the next stop? That's where my mind is going with this, but I'd like some sort of confirmation. I don't want to wreck the trigger if it's from something I've overlooked.

The only other thing I can think of is I did change the grip handle... Can you torque that handle screw too hard & make the trigger group flex and bind up?

And yeah, I'm going to pull the safety. That isn't helping matters at the end of the pull. It doesn't work anyway.

    Thanks for reading.

    Is the trigger spring binding?

I don’t think so, but I’ll definitely take another look at it. Thanks.

An issue with the safety maybe?

No, pretty sure it’s not that. There’s no contact with the safety for the first half of the trig pull. I’m gonna pull the safety anyway though. It makes the trig hang up at the end of the pull.

Yes, this can happen. Back out the bolt holding your grip on a bit and it should free up the trigger. I had this issue when I made some wood grips for mine.

I popped off the grip & left it for a few days. The trigger still binds up. Maybe it's possible I have the trigger frame/group bolted to the body too tightly, but I've never had that issue with the few other Trracers I've had. Hmm.

I'll be checking the trigger spring next & see if it's binding.

Maybe check and make sure the frame bolts are in the right spots. The longer one into the valve atthe back and shorter one in the front.

        I'll check that. Thanks.

No dice on that either. Had the trig group detached from the main body for a few days. Still sticks. The trig spring doesn't seem to be binding either.

I guess I'll pull the trigger & see what's up... I mean, I had it out once before and didn't see anything, but maybe I can polish up the trig pin or file the hole in the trig larger or something, or if it's binding up on the sides I'll sand down the trigger a bit.

Hmm, may have a look at mine in the morning tomorrow and see if I can recreate the issue when I had it.
    Working...
